Realtek sound driver

I had to try about 10 times to get it to download, but it finally did.

the new driver and the setting change does help it get louder, still kinda sounds like 2 tin cans, but atleast I can hear it now.

I upgraded to a WD Black 7200rpm 320gb drive and it was fast before with the WD blue 5400rpm drive, now it is real fricking fast. pretty much as fast as a standard midddle of the road desktop with the same specs.

The 250gb blue drive is going in my PS3, since it has been shown over and over a 7200rpm drive does almost nothing for performance in the PS3, nice size upgrade though from the stock 60gb.

gonna upgrade the intel graphics driver now.

Got an Acer 2 weeks ago from Best buy for 330... thought it was a great deal but it has turion TF-20... slow single core...... then I saw this deal here. Even though I can not return the Acer anymore I decided to buy this anyway since it has a much better cpu for less- everything else is same.

But the machine seems to be having trouble with wi-fi.... when I use ethernet it is fine... wireless connection drops on and off plus the speed is like 28k dial up... remember those??? Device manager shows no problem with the driver...

Also noticed that Atheros driver is linked to the Lan and broadcom driver is linked to wi-fi . . . is that right??? shouldn't it be the other way around???

Please inform if anyone else is having trouble with the wi-fi..... if not I will just exchange... this might be an isolated issue and defective product...

not having any wireless or wired lan problems, but it never hurts to get the latest drivers from the vendor, not emachines...

Read the thread or do a search within the thread. Someone talked about this already that was having same or similar problem and I think they installed an older broadcom driver which solved the problem. Good Luck and I hope I don't have the same issue.

Can someone PM the procedure to use to avoid entering data during the initial setup & configuration during first time startup so that when booting the 'puter each time one doesn't have to sign in or put in a PW. I like to be able to boot right into windows without having to go though the id process.

Just don't put in a password and hit the "next" button when you do the initial setup.

If you ever get brave, that socket S1 can be upgraded cheap on eBay. I grabbed an AMD Turion 64 x2 1.8 TL-56 for $25 - 8% Bing.

Can someone confirm that the wired ethernet is capable of 1 gigabit?

I read a comment somewhere saying 100mbit was it's limit, but specs everywhere on the web say "10/100 gigabit"

Well for the hell of it I had some Lansing speakers that get usb powered to the laptop and WOW what a VAST difference! Puts the onboard speakers to shame and then some. Sound sounds great, considering the speakers being used. They used to hang on the side of a monitor but for this application they work great. Gonna paint them black to match the lappy. I am not regreting my purchase at all. havent stopped using it since I got it and yet to have a glitch other then moving and mouse not working at the same time and low sound from the onboard speakers. Nothing another set of speakers and a different mouse fix them problems I have had.

Plays some games pretty good to I am finding out. May have to kick back the eye candy but still totally playable at over 30fps on it. I feel sorry for those who couldnt get on this deal, really missing out, and cannot believe I paid little over $300 with tax for this thing.

my kids say that it will play wow, but it's not pretty, and it plays the original dawn of war... they're going to try a couple other steam things next...

Have you tested this unit or are you merely speculating? And what kind of data throughput? Moving big vid files through the router, since net throughput is limited anyway

I can tell you that it does HD (720) through wireless flawlessly. I been using wireless with a 54mb connection, so even if it is a 100mb wired line you still should be able to push HD through it as well.

I'm talking 90% of consumer use machines.

arent pushing more than 20-3mb over 100, let alone gigabit.

because they simply cant push data that fast, especially a low end laptop bith a budget 2.5" HDD.

high end SSD's are doing 100-200MB of data throughput, so thats all thats going out bound anyways

I saw a couple left in the electronics cage at the WM closest to me yesterday and a stock check shows most of the stores near me still have them so it looks like it's still alive. I have two so far. Maybe I'll go for three to sell to friends.
