Not super hot but worth looking at if you are on a tight budget and need a non-gaming rig.

Good deal.....here is another also at OD....I just picked a Compaq 5WV280 (900 Anthlon) for 600+tax - 50.00 Compaq rebate = 550.00 + tax. This deal is not in all stores. Why you ask? Well after talking with the manager, he said that their wharehouse got about 50 skids worth of partially damaged Compaq's (I think exterior damage). Some were the 5WV280 and also some 5WV294 which is the 1gig Anthlon. Their tech support is repairing them and shipping to the busier stores to unload faster and the stores are are marking them down a couple hundred bux and selling them as open box. They all come with full warranty. The WV280 is already marked down to 799.00 and WV294 is now 1099.00 regular price. Both come with CD, CDRW 128mb and 30-40GB HD, and a webcam. Not a bad system for a second machine. Like I said your mileage may vary from store to store.

Fry's has a similar deal with the eMachine, it's like $450 but it has 64mb ram, 5x or 8x DVD, and a 20gb hd. I used to have an emachine, it ran perfectly fine. Great post Sinner.
