eMachines T3306

I'm thinking about getting the T3306 but I'm just not sure if its worth the price. Heres the specs from Emachines site T3306 specs I'm planning on buying it from circuitcity Emachines T3306 I'm not sure what motherboard eMachines uses for the T series. I just cant seem to find much info on it. It seems like a great PC for its price. I'm just going to surf the net and play some older games on it. I'll probably put in a video card and more ram in it sooner or later. I heard that eMachines sucked in the hardware and tech support but now they are doing abit better. I just wanted some advice or opinions on this desktop. I'm just not sure if its worth it or if I can find a better desktop for the money. Thank you!

For $110 more, you could get a 200gb hdd, a dvd burner, an AMD64 3500+, and a computer that will grow with you when you decide to put it to more intensive tasks

That looks like a hell of a deal but I still need to buy a monitor. I forgot to say anything about that in my first post. I'm going to have about $700 but I would like to get a desk aswell. But I can just see myself getting this and using some crappy table and some 100 buck monitor. One quick question about that system. I use a really old compaq with windows 98 but I have used XP before. Anyways I see the OS is Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005. Is that just like XP just with more software? Newbie question.

After looking at outpost.com I think I'm going to go for Compaq sr1610nx $509.99 Its alittle more then I wanted to spend but I think its worth it. Alittle more processer, double the ram, dvd burner, and double the L2 Cache compared to the eMachines. Heh I have no clue what that means but meh. The HP seemed really sweet but its alittle more then I have. If I come along and fine an extra 100 bucks I'll go for it!

The specs say the emachine has an AGP slot, so it probably is a skt 754 if that matters to you. For another $80 or so, the next step up at CC is a Compaq with a DVD writer, skt 939, and PCIe slot.

Since you're currently running an oldie with win98 (I am too!), anything will have alot more power. I'm looking to get a HP a1210n when I talk myself into spending the money. To me, that seems to be the sweet spot for the money.

Yeah my compaq right now is 500mhz amd which was made in 99 so anything I buy will be a rocket. The compaq sr1610nz mobo is MSI 939 which supports AMD Athlon 64 (up to 4000+) and Sempron (up to 3200+) processors. Which is the one you were talking about. I kinda wish eMachines posted all their info like compaq does. Oh well looks like I'll stay with compaq after all The HP does look sweet but for me I think thats just little overboard Goodluck and Thank you!
