Email address formatting

Got tons of spam utilizing just my firstname, so I tried firstname_lastname, but that gets too long.
I need a new format. BTW, this is for a company, so I am looking into some of the traditional ones I've seen
on the net.

I've seen firstname.lastname@domain.com
Also I like doej@domain.com
Any other ones worth checking out? I realize it wont deter spam, but I can't use my current email address.

Our basic format is lastnamefirstinitial@domain.com or firstinitiallastname@domain.com. A few people have just their initials@domain.com

yea firstinitiallastname is pretty standard, but that will do.

For most corporate and educational e-mail systems firstinitiallastname@domain.com is pretty much the defacto standard.

Some do firstname.lastname@domain.com

too much spam with firstname@domain.com as well as the other one firstinitiallastname@domain.com
so yea i'll do firstname.lastname@domain.com

for spam avoidance a dash is pretty handy, avoid things like first_last or firstlast, you could add a 3 digit number just to weed out any chance if it being generated

gosh darnit, just realized something. somehow these spammers got many of the variations we are speaking of.
They are being sent to my main account firstname@domain.com. I wonder how it's getting to that account and not the main catch-all account.

 

Mine is: firstinitialmiddleinitiallastname@domain.edu

I have had myfirsname (tom) @ domain.com for a long time now and I don't get any spam to that address. I do bounce a few to sales@domain.com and webmaster@domain.com though (neither of which exist)

And before anyone signs up the email address in my profile for a ton of spam, that's not the email I'm talking about. That email box was worthless to me long ago due to spam.
