Emergency help! Hercules Radeon 8500 Bios gone wrong!!!

OKay so my Radeon 8500 was not performing up to snuff. I tried to upgrade the BIOS up to retail levels but that didnt even flash. Hercules didnt have any falshes for the LE cards so I opted for the 7005 version of ATI's 8500 bios. Well the flash went well but when I restarted the card didnt want to work at all! Now my Radeon 8500 appears to be ruined! I dont know what to do! I bought this card July 02 from Newegg and I havent been exactly impressed with it. It got the job done and was probaly the best card i've owned it just wouldnt oc. I thought a BIOS flash would help but sure didnt. Anything I can do?

You screwed the card up and you hate Hercules for it?

Plug in a PCI videocard(leave the 8500 in place), switch the monitor to the PCI card, boot and reflash the 8500 with the original BIOS.

That's about all you can do. The Herc bios also is 250/250 is'nt it? And the 7005 is a 275/275 I beleive. You could try it again blind if you can remember the steps, maybe.

Flash it blind. Boot up to DOS with a Win98 floppy. Put in the floppy with the flash utility and the correct bios file.

atiflash -u 0 -f(bios.bin/.rom) hit enter

type "YES" enter

Hopefully this will be correct. If you know the exact keystrokes it will work everytime.

It might be just a "Y" instead of "YES".

ok I got that, but where can I get a hercules bios for that? I dont see it anywhere on the website! There is one for the rertail version but I know that doesnt work.

the forums at Rage3D will be able to provide you any bios you need. Go post a request and someone will email it to you. They are good like that

Why would this not be your fault? Hercules would warn you AGAINST doing what you just did.

no if Hercules made cards just like every other ATI oem maker then it would of worked.

umm, nice sarcasm. since you are familiar with rage3d then you should know that you would have a lot better luck with this type of request there than here...

no if Hercules made cards just like every other ATI oem maker then it would of worked.

it's still your fault. you should have done research to verify that the bios would work properly with your card before you flashed it.
