Contact a travel agent. Look at today paper that advertise great deal. You won't get that price but they're your best bet of getting the cheapest ticket and on the fastest way. My bet its going to be either Korean Air or China Air that has the cheapest ticket.

tried all sites. 3 day in advance is the earliest i can book. i need one now. we did check with our travel agents and was quoted a price of $800-$900. just wanted to see if i can get it cheaper.

Try Orbitz.com, Hotwire.com, travelocity.com and priceline. I'd use them in that order. Orbitz has a nice layout for easy flight searching IMHO.

it is still the peak season now... so 800-900 is quite reasonable.

try contact cathay pacific or any airline DIRECTLY and ask them for a quote.

The 3rd link down ivillage has a good definition, I found a $620 fare on travelocity.com but there are several restrictions.

When my grandpa was about to die, my uncle flew in from Lagos Nigeria on the BA Concorde (he paid a few grand for himself and my aunt and hey may have used a bunch of miles too.) If that doesn't work...look into other bereavement fares.

You aren't going to get a breavement fare on an international flight. 800-900 is VERY cheap for a 14hour last minute flight. Skip the agent though, find out what airline it is and buy the ticket at the counter at the airport. Just be prepared for the strip search for the last minute ticket purchase.
