The logic here is astounding, folks.

suse! Lets get a emo band together. You can do the lyrics (you've already proved your talent there), I can play guitar (yeah I really can, blues guitar mostly), then we can get some monkey from india to play the drums and SHAAABANG! we'll be rolling in the dough.
The only price is our dignity....and possibly are souls.

I just spent the time since I first posted my question googling EMO, I must say I am out of touch with this genre of music, or at least what it stands for/represents. Since I have no experience with it I cannot critique it objectively. Now CRAP, err I mean rap on the other hand is something that I deplore. I believe it is one of the things that is ruining the fiber of this country. It's whole existance has turned violence into commenplace and demoralized the younger generation. And yes, I am a 40ish white male that grew up listening to what is reffered to as "classic Rock" today.

EMO is like the new Weezer. They sing emotionally about stuff they have no idea about....
EMO bands: pretty much any Blink 182 knock off, New Found Glory, Get Up Kids (they used to be decent, actually)...make me shutter.

Well trucker, i'm 19ish (well actually I turned 19 just a couple of days ago) and I listen to blues and classic rock. But, mind you, not all classic rock is good. To me, the best classic rock is that of which is heavily influenced by blues i.e., Led Zeppelin, Cream, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doors, etc. Lately I've been on a Skynyrd binge. They are an amazing amazing band.

There is crap in every classification of music. It is the shallow mind that cannot hear the talent/skill and raw emotion of expression.
Go listen to some Hendrix to get it out of your system.Originally posted by: littlewing
emo is basically "emotional" rock. ugh, im getting sick again.
