Try the Demo out for Total War. I can seriously say that I am tempted to buy the game even though i have barely played the first ones in the series. The graphics are superb and the Naval Battles are very fun and unique

The naval battles were fun, but the land battles seemed too simple...just line up your guys against the others and shoot, while firing artillery.

Wait until they get naval invasions fixed until you purchase E:TW.
Should hopefully be done in the next couple weeks.
My favorite bit of complexity is that you aren't exactly trying to kill the enemy, you are simply trying to rout them. How you combine your artillery, line infantry, and cavalry to accomplish this is where the strategy comes into play and there's a lot more to it than simply trading fire. Try bringing your cavalry through your lines rather than flanking, and research the wedge early on.Originally posted by: ConstipatedVigilante
