Emptied My Coin Jar - Which Card to Buy?

MSI Twin Frozr are great coolers... although MSI need to release back plates for their products to stiffen up the PCB. The weight of aftermarket coolers cause a bit of sag, which has yet to be a problem for me (my previous R6950 Twin Frozr III's sagged a lot), but certainly is not confidence inspiring.

Is that CPU really so bad? I know Intels are better these days but I would have figured a top end X4 @ 3.7 would be serviceable...

It's fine, about 20% slower more or less. There is always a cutoff where CPU power really hurts GPU power; however, I believe this is not below that.

That's what I was thinking. I don't play BF3 multiplayer or anything really CPU intensive like that. I thought a good 1920x1200 or 1080p monitor with game settings cranked up pretty high would work out OK for most RPGs.

You can always count on the video card industry to ensure every time you go out and buy a $4-500 dollar part you're not getting what you paid for, the coolers some companies use are utter sh t in every sense of the word and the *only* reason GPU's run so hot. Way to many frikin middle men and cheap components in this industry its disgusting, zero quality control just 3rd parties with GPU's supplied by folks who don't care where the chips go as long as they're getting their money.

Running these in sli,they honestly aren't to hot,the top card usually sits at 76cel as a max load temp and attempting to keep it at 70cel or lower would require me running vsync which is just ruined in most games now..or turn my ac on to 60....basically now i keep both the fans at 65% and the noise isn't that terrible versus full load and they never hit 80 cel ever,even if my room is toasty.

+1 for the GTX 670. Then do a CPU/Mobo memory upgrade next year.

now the price is already going down ....2 month ago cost 40 bucks more...

Bought an ASUS PA248Q monitor that'll be arriving Monday (1920x1200). Amazon has the ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU priced at $399.99. I think they would make a decent combo - even with my X4 980 BE. Just pressed the "order" button! As others have said they'll be great moved over to a new system when I can afford it next year. They'll be great right now for that matter.
