Shot with the Nikon V1 , 32mm f/1.2 lens. Converted to B&W in Lightroom 4. 1/125 sec, f/1.4, ISO-560 under bad stage lighting in a darkened room. The girl was singing "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", so I thought it would be cool to emulate B&W Film for the shot. I’m trying to emulate Kodak Tri-X B&W IOS400 film. I was able to introduce some grain using Lightroom B&W presets, but I think that next time I’ll manually up the in-camera ISO to 1600. The V1 has noise at that ISO, but it is a rather pleasant film-like noise that I think will look more authentic. Shot was cropped and then down-sampled to 3.0 megapixels to make it Facebook friendly.

That's a pretty nice shot; I like the B&W effect.

Next time, tell everyone sitting in the front row to duck down.

Lighting is horrible

A wider crop (crop out at the top of the pot drum to the right, roughly, or just below the guitars, and a tiny bit above the top of the bass.
Do some photoshop magic to get rid of the brick wall.
Crop out the microphone stand on the left.

It will calm down the image a bit, which right now is just very busy - no fault of your own, just zero effort to get the stage presentable.

A bit of extra contrast won't hurt, once the image is less busy, and make sure to experiment with off-neutral grays.

And, when adding film grain, make sure it matches the size of what you are emulating. Looks like currently the grain is still a tad too fine, when viewing the image on full size.
Did you use and sharpening PP? Some of the vertical detail looks like it has gotten a contrast boost.

I fixed it up a bit as per Rick's suggestions but I didn't crop the bottom as much:

Yes, with Disappoint's crop I see what you're saying... The stage was a mess, with numerous groups performing. I did sorta' like seeing the audience, but I do think you're right.

Cool

With the "odd" format, it doesn't look as "filmy" as a pure 3:2 ratio, but it does help tighten/tidy the composition up and makes the shot easier to "access".
