NETGEAR RP614 4-Port Cable/DSL Web Safe Router : http://www.techdepot.com/product.asp?productid=1143669
Pretty big difference. For 1, the netgear only does NAT and they consider that a firewall (which it is not).
The SMC does real Stateful packet Inspection and also has NAT.
2) The SMC is a vpn (IPSEC or PPTP) endpoint. U could have 1 SMC in 1 location, have a 2nd in another (say branch office), and create a VPN to each other. The netgear has VPN pass thru, meaning it will allow an encrypted tunnel to pass thru it to an endpoint (either vpn firewall after the router, or software based solution, but can not be the actual endpoint.
Mighty big differences for the same price.
Netgear is not even close to being hot at that price, the SMC definately is!
