I have HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 laptop which has a small internal SSD that is almost full. Instead of replacing the drive, I'm looking to buy an external SSD to move some files that I don't need often. The laptop has a USB type-c port (USB-Type C charging port according to specs) As the internal drives are cheaper compared to external ones I am thinking of buying an internal SSD and using a USB C to SATA Adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-VCZHS-Drives-External-Converter/dp/B077P6ZT4P/. What is the speed that I can expect from such a setup? Is there a better adapter or enclosure that I can use? Does it make sense to buy an NVMe SSD with a corresponding enclosure for future proofing?
