encrypting with java

hey guys i got a quick question that i cannot yet answer becasue i'm still a newbie

i wanna use soemthing like this code, but i'm concerned about how easy this would be to crack

it basically encrypts soemthing with a given password defined in the code...wouldn't somebody be able to reverse engineer this and find the password? or is my understanding of how 'easy' this is completely wrong?

if what i'm saying is true, how can i make it more difficult for someone to be able to do this. basically i need to create a program and distribute it, it will dump certain information to a file and encrypt it, but i want to make it as hard as possible for whoever is using it to know what information is being grabbed

i'm guessing there is no easy way unless i make it way more complex and have it communicate with some outside server or soemthing?

edit sorry i realised this won't work with what i wanna do becasue if they could reverse-engineer the code to find the password then they would realise its random and decode the file, look at the structure of how i did things and spoof a program

i thoghut abotu it fora sec and i think ill just make it random but have the password very sort...so afterwards ill write another program to decrypt the information (brute), which will take hours/days or whatever. i figure this will work since aslong as i get the file quickly from the person after it gathers information, then at the cost of time, i have an unmodified file?

why does this sound like a virus to me? Anyways, I would suggest using something like GPG where their are 2 keys, that locking key and the unlocking key. Does the program need to know the unlocking key? if so, I don't know of any good way to keep things encrypted if your program is doing both the encryption and decryption at the same time.

thank you for the reply. after some research i think im gonig to go to c++ for more application-hardening methods.

its actually gonig to be an anticheat for a game, the program needs to do encryption only but i need to know how to decrypt after, so i was hesitant to put the password in the source code, becasue i dont know how easy it would be to get from the asm code or whatever.

i will look into gpg, thanks man. it seems like that would work

All encryption is breakable. Your goal should be to make it hard enough to break, that the average person will not be able to decrypt it. people good at cracking will be able to crack your code no matter what you do. The only thing that truly would work is some sort of server authorization much like how Steam works. I can't believe that has not been cracked though.
