The end that is in the toilet is DC. You could stick your hand into the water and not get shocked. Just pull the plug out and dry it off.

if that were the case, id have been electrocuted many times over the last 40 years.

and passed out from 120V wall? wow. 15A 120V is a good jolt, but not one that would toss ya back and knock out people. hell, i didnt even pass out when i got tickled by 220V a couple times.

bs, 220 will throw you.

I pulled out my clippers to do a trim and hooked them up. I picked up the trimmers and the power cord fell out and the end landed in the toilet. The adapter is hooked up to an outlet with power.

Whatever you do, certainly don't unplug it from the wall. OR grab the cable and just pull it out of the toilet.

Whatever you do, don't make any sort of effort of any kind.

Grabbing an insulated plug while the device is entirely and thoroughly immersed in water is no different than grabbing an insulated plug while the device is immersed in air - unless you've magically altered some basic laws of physics.

Have you?

He already fucked over the reaper. After doing that, adjusting physics is child's play ;^)

Not really. It'll make you jump for sure but not necessarily throw you. The only throwing that will happen is if you throw yourself from it.

I've gotten nailed by 300V before.

How did you get hit with 300v touch all 3 wires at once? 240 volts would probably throw you if you touched one 120 volt wire in one hand and the other 120 volts wire in the other. If it didn't kill you.

You guys have to be thinking of touching one hot 120 volt wire and ground some where else. It all depends where you get hit with the wire and where your grounded. 120 volts can easily kill you if it goes through your heart.

So OP the output of the adapter is low voltage DC. Its not going to hurt you pull it out.

I shorted both hots on 240 with a 60 amp breaker one time. Almost blinded me and welded the screwdrivers together ha.
I've gotten hit with 120 more than enough but never with a good ground.

It was 300V DC. Pair of wires. And I'm aware that 120V can kill you if it hits you right. But I've gotten shocked by 120VAC between fingers on the same hand, or one hand to the other, or one hand to the foot. It bites, but doesn't throw you.

My bro's old boss got nailed by the flyback of a CRT monitor once. It made him, well, fly back

That makes more more sense. I've gotten hit with 120 and a grounded metal case on the same hand before and it just kind of tingles. Guy I worked with got hit with 120 with one hand and his other on a water pipe. It got him good enough to knock him off a ladder and it wasn't his first time getting shocked. He said thats the worst he had ever been shocked before.

just pull it out of the wall. plastic casings do not conduct electricity. let it dry out, then use it as if nothing had happened. you'll be fine.

I applaud your cautiousness, however you have nothing to worry about like others have said.

btw-to show my e-penis, I've gotten a little bit of 440v once through a pair of wet cotton gloves. Certainly wasn't pleasant, but didn't kill me. My entire arm went into total freeze up when I reached around a column to turn on a fan and found that someone had left the front cover off the switch box.

it's only 12 volts at most, I doubt it's even that. Check the rating. It's most likely safe. You can put it in your mouth if you want and you wont even get a shock.

My coworker dared me to put a blackberry adapter end in my mouth as a total joke and he was like "NO! I was kidding!" when I did it. There's really nothing to it. Just sanitize it before, and after, the experiment.

If you get a decent source of DC voltage it's actually neat if you put it in water, it will do electrolysis and make bubbles. One side will be oxygen the other side will be hydrogen. You can do that with AC too but it's more effective with DC.

But a typical household adapter wont really put out enough voltage to harm you. In fact it took me like 12 daisy chainned 9 volt batteries before I felt a shock during a random IT experiment. When you see a box full of those batteries it's one of those things you just HAVE to try...

Ouch... I've gotten 120 many times, by accident and on purpose "hmm is this live? *touches*"

Never higher then that though. 120 is quite a surprise, it makes my reflexes 100x faster then normal. I've never tried 220 and I'm too chicken to try it. It was tempting to touch the screws of a double pole breaker in my panel while I had it open and powered on but I chickened out.

Oh and 120 from hand to hand is not very fun. Ok, so I was laughing when it happened but I would not do it again.

You don't test 9V batteries on your tongue? I thought that everyone did that. Good ones give you a little bite, bad ones just tingle.
