Energy drinks-do you partake?

No they are too expensive. When I was working retail I got all my cafine from the free Diet Pepsi anyway.

Besides with a few exceptions they all taste the same, like extra sour Mountain Dew. That taste gets old very quickly.

I need to detox from caffeine. I don't really drink energy drinks all that often, and other ingredients beyond the caffeine help quite a bit (they actually have a low amount of caffeine in comparison to other beverages). I'll have a combination of either coffee or caffeine pills daily.

I'll be slowly detoxing myself over winter break when I'm just chilling at home with family and friends. Right now is NOT the time to make myself go through the mild headaches and the lack of energy.

Getting close to the end of the quarter. And Russian is kicking my ass.

When I go out drinking, yes. Caffeine pill + Ginseng is a cheap alternative with no sugar.

I drink an energy drink the night before an exam or a project/lab report is due. For me, they have proven effective at keeping me up and focused for the few extra hours that I need to be up studying. I guess the combination of horrible carbonated taste + high amount of sugar/caffeine is why it's so effective for me. That's the only time I drink them though, I can't imagine drinking those things on a regular basis.

You want real energy drink? go to a Chinese herb store and buy powdered gingseng. It is not all that expensive, I htink something like 200g is 40 bux. But each time you use like 2 grams or so so 100 shots for 40 bux.

It should come with a small spoon, use that and measure 2, add to water.

That will keep you up all night.

Will also clean out your large intestines if you are not used to it

I tried caffeine pills, but they tend to make me nauseous. I think energy drinks work better for me because you can sip one over the course of an hour or so. BTW, Rockstar Punched Guava is the shit. It doesn't taste like poison, it tastes like rainbows.

i tried them a long time ago and they were addictive at first but the 'debilitating crash' after was, well, eyebrow raising and yes, the sugar in those are way too high.

i never drank any of those drinks for a long while, hated the crash, hated the sugar, and i was jittery on them - fuckem

Not too long ago a buddy at work suggested that I try Redline. I told him the story and he insisted that i try it, but i wasn't buying the hype/bullshit. For all the doubters out there, try it. Redline, Meltdown, and the 5hr energy drinks are the only ones I've used that do NOT make you jittery, have zero sugars, and do NOT make you crash after they wear off. I don't use them all the time because you can't, too much of anything is ..not good, but they are definately far different than the redbulls, monsters, etc.

I have a Russian test next Monday. This will be my Sunday late morning/early afternoon poison of choice, and hopefully not simply a hangover fighter. Going to need to remember to down a bunch of Gatorade before I go to bed Saturday night and again Sunday morning so this poison will still work great after Saturday's poison of choice.
OSU/UM game this Saturday. The fact the test is Monday is just so damn cruel. I guess they didn't want to interrupt plans for travel the day before Thanksgiving.

oi, but you also get more out of the stuff than the sugar water that are the various cola beverages. Ounce for ounce the stuff is naturally more valuable.

Four years ago I use to drink Vodka Redbull regularly on weekends. It became "tradition" with an old roommate of mine to go to Costco about every other weekend, buy a case of Redbull and a 1.5L of Smirnoff Vodka - sometimes we'd have the entire purchase finished by Sunday morning. Most of this was induced by the ridiculous hours we use to put in as auditors for a Big 4 firm and we used the VRB to clear the mind after a work week of hell. There was about a 9 month stretch after we moved in together that every weekend was a blur. After that stretch, I don't drink it much anymore, and that's probably a good thing.
