Ditto in this country. That bill might not pass but the Patriot Act did. I fail to see where you lot have a leg to stand on when it comes to comparing human rights - you're every bit as bad. You make me sick. The British are by far the worst violators of human rights throughout the history of mankind on this planet.

Even in modern times, the UK is worse because the people are automatically subjected to a discriminatory, sexist, and inbred bloodline. I bet that the British actually have the equivalent of the Patriot Act (many countries instituted it and many were actually worse because they didn't have a sunset clause) or already such laws in place.

Everyone already knows that the UK is backwards when it comes to free speech and other civil rights. Most of Europe is like that. Their cultures come from a strong monarchic background, so it's perfectly normal for the peasants (population) to be deemed a lower caste by their supposed superiors. Any treaties, bill of rights, etc. are not as sacred as the monarchy, so they can be shit upon.

In other news, Germany is introducing legislation to ban paintball & laser tag because of gun violence.

The rest of the world just looks on in disbelief, wondering when the Europeans will emerge from this modern Dark Age.
