Enterprise cancelled!?!?!

Tycoon Guy writes "There seems to be no avoiding it this season: TrekToday is reporting that the Enterprise production crew has been told they will all be fired in March, after completing filming on another four episodes. If true, that leaves only very little time to participate in the Save Enterprise campaign. But even if Enterprise is cancelled, all may not be lost: Rick Berman said today he's working on a new Trek feature film that will have "a larger scope and budget" than ever."

Seems like it was just a rumour... but they're still close either way...

According to SFX, supposed set spy "Trekspy" who works on Enterprise's set is due to be out of a job by March. "Trekspy" may be out of a job, but our sources confirm that this is NOT due to Enterprise being cancelled.

Our source say although UPN can pull the plug on the show anytime, the current plan on the set is to continue through the planned 22 episodes this season. The article is correct in that the last episode of the season (episode 22) will conclude principle photography in early March.

Manny Coto has also told TrekToday "It's another inane rumour. Right now, the crew is building the sets for episodes 20-21, which I'm writing. Rick [Berman] and Brannon [Braga] are writing episode 22, which is going to be fantastic!"

nielsen ratings bother me.. how accurate can they be... esp now with the internet..though there are no commercials on the netversions so thats iffy. bah if they were smart they'd stream enterprise eps from the upn website or somethin..commercials and all.

Yeah, they could DRM a bittorrent release with HDTV res and ac3 audio... Now THAT'd be a way to send out tv.

Nielsen ratings are funny. I got a mail out from them asking me to be in a test group for this weird scanner thing. You scan the UPC codes for all your groceries when you buy them, then you call a number and hold the thing up to the phone.

I was gonna go buy a box of condoms, scan it 20 times, and then send it once a week

I doubt UPN is going to cancel Enterprise. Ratings have gone up since last season and the demographics is what really makes Enterprise shine to advertisers anyhow. Besides, UPN doesn't even have any other half-decent shows in its lineup so without Enterprise, their franchise will essentially have zero value to the entire industry.

Agreed. I would pay to stream it over the net. They should be in the forefront of doing something like that. Someone needs to make that step of making episodes avail through the internet. Maybe even at like 2 dollars each or so.

Also Neilson ratings are BS to me.... Back when they did something similar to Records, then switch over to actually counting the actual sales of records they found out that the ratings were totally wrong. Just like the polls of the Presidential election were wrong in many ways.

I didn't catch it yet this season. The first couple of seasons were pretty lame though. For some reason the episodes just seem to drag and don't hold my attention. Start Trek TNG seemed so fresh and well-written when it was out. I don't know why they can't seem to duplicate it's success. Hopefully when I finally catch one of this season's episodes I'll be proven wrong as some of you are stating.
