SSD's don't go off into space by themselves (or any Star Destroyer), unlike the Enterprise.
Think of Star Destroyer's like carrier groups. They deploy fighter and bomber wings by the hundreds, and act like amphibious assault ships with AT-AT's, Storm Troopers, etc. They have frigates, cruisers, corvettes (blockade runners) and interdictor class destroyers at all flanks.
Enterprise was an exploration ship with only a transport bay. No fighters, bombers or any of the sort. Weapons were underpowered even by ST standards. Only thing advanced was the drive, research labs, and the medical center.
Enterprise would vaporize as soon as Picard hailed all frequencies.
Your first argument is irrelevent for two reasons. First of all, it goes against the spirit of the poll. I could make all sorts of claims about how the Enterprise
should enter battle in a fleet, but that's not what the poll says. And yes, galaxy class starships have been known to travel in large fleets (Wolf 359 for example)
While the enterprise did typically have weaker weapons than some of the better klingon/romulan ships, they were by no means "underpowered." Additionally the Enterprise typically had stronger shields than the other races. Considering that the Star Wars universe makes almost no use of shields at all (and when they do they put the generator on a sparsely guarded planet that even a bunch of hairy midgets can take down) I could make the argument that a SSD couldn't get a shot at the Enterprise while the Enterprise bombards it with torpedoes at warp speed.
The truth is that the argument is irrelevant, apples to oranges etc.
