my guess is after the dust settles the current goverment on vulcan is going to change quite a bit (more like the goverment seen in TNG)

I think they got all new writers and finished up all the old story lines.

Didn't NCC 1701 make first contact with the Romulans? I think I remember that, but I may be wrong.

Edit: I agree that this show is starting to get good. It always seems to take a few seasons for the ST serieseses to get their "space legs," so to speak.

nope...just before the federation formed thier was a war between humans and romulans. and since the concluesion of this show is supposed to be the formation of the federation we have to have a romulan war
