Here's what he means, and he's right - it has all of those listed in the OP, plus Dragonstone, Demonshard, and Temple of Elemental Evil, for the same price.

In for one!

Better package and great find!, but does it have Icewind Dale 2? (it cuts off at Icewind Dale).

They really should have thrown PlaneScape: Torment in there

According to here, it includes Icewind Dale 2:

I agree about Planescape, fantastic game. Perhaps it wasn't D&D licensed?

I noticed that IWD2 cutoff as well, and found the same mobygames page (as well as an Atari.co.au page) that listed them all.

True, Planescape would have been awesome (I've never played it, but hear it's fantastic). I'm still considering signing up for GameTap for long enough to play it, then canceling.

You do not have to install them all at once and play them in parallel, you know

But I can see how you would want to...

By the way, some things that are worth following:

Icewind Dale 1 NPC project to develop premade party members complete with dialogs / banters to make it Baldurs Gate 2 like, it will have content for both expansion packs. Seems to be close to release (will add it to the OP when it is released).

If any of you are into PlaneScape torment and dislike the 640x480 resolution, checkout this thread. It was probably one of the best, if not the best of the Infinity Engine games (the engine that drives the BG series and IWD series), shame they did not include it with this bundle.

I just bought this pack off of gogamer (still $49.99 but well worth it) and it just came in the mail....I must say I'm highly impressed. The packaging/box is superb! All the included games are excellent and well worth the purchase price, they're all gems that I can't wait to get started playing. Like others said, I just wish they had included Planescape: Torment...then it would have been the ULTIMATE ULTIMATE Dungeons & Dragons Box . I highly recommend this package to other fans of RPGs if you don't yet have it!

I have gametap, they have baldur's gate I, II, IWD I, II but none of the expansions (Tales of the sword coast, Throne of Baal, etc.). Also I think gametap installs games a bit differently so you have to play it through gametap so you can't just modify their installs easily (such as with mods or the expansion).

That said, this is a crazy deal, tempted to get one so that it'll tide me over until FF13, Disgaea 3, Fallout 3 =).

For those who don't want to keep track of 17 CD Roms, Overstock has the DVD version of it for $48 shipped.

Just to let everyone know. In Temple of Elemental Evil, if you have problems looting, I have found a fix for it. Looting seems to not work right due to a .dll file if you are using WinXP SP2 and DirectX 9.0c. Download and install all 3 patches from either Atari's website or from Sorcerer's Place website. Then download the Temple of Elemental Evil Unofficial Patch from Sorcerer's Place website. Extract the files into the root directory of Temple of Elemental Evil.

Make sure to rename your current Temple.dll file so it does not get overwritten, just in case you need it.

Temple of Elemental Evil Official Patches

Sorcerer's Place

I have had no problems with the game yet. It seems to be pretty stable. The unofficial patch also corrects a few things, but does have bugs of it own. Read the information with the unofficial patch as it provided workarounds.

Edit: While using the unofficial patch, the game has frozen twice. It did not lock up the system completely. The game unfroze after about a minute. Other than that, there have been no issues with the unofficial patch for me.

Edit 2: The freezing may not actually be related to the unofficial patch. I had forgotten that I have been playing around with the video drivers. It may be a problem with the way it is trying to render the images. I am tweaking and will provide another update if I remember to do so.

That is the same item. It still contains 17 discs. Balder's Gate is on a single DVD, as is Balder's Gate 2, Demon Stone, Dragon Shard, and Icewind Dale. Neverwinter Nights, Temple of Elemental Evil, and Icewind Dale 2 are on CDs. Each expansion has it's own CD.

So, is this seriously 17 separate discs? How massive of a box are we talking about?

I've got most of those, except Dragonshard and Demonstone - I need most of the Baldur's Gate games though, because I either broke the disks or never bought the expansions (so I didn't know how the BG saga concluded). I actually already have two sets of NWN (by the time I got around to buying the expansions, it was cheaper to simply buy the compilation version). Shame they didn't see fit to include PS:T, but luckily I still own that. I also have Temple of Elemental Evil, which is far less well known than the rest, but a pretty true-to-AD&D experience.

Physical size, it's not that big. It has no manuals with it. Just a card with CD keys for a couple games and a card that has support numbers on it. All manuals are either .pdf or .txt files, IIRC. Don't feel like checking right now.

Also, to update my post above, it was definitely the video card drivers, as I encountered problems with other games due to my testing.

Edit: Have to agree with you on ToEE, Amber. I loved it because of how true it was to D&D. I wish more of the games had the same format/engine to drive them, and set in Greyhawk. NWN is ok, but it does no have the same feel to it as ToEE.

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to snap some pics . That doesn't look too bad -- I was expecting some humongous box. Looks about the same size as Morrowind GOTY. And nicely organized too -- I'd be kind of annoyed if it came as 17 discs in separate paper sleeves .

I've said this before, but even tho I own 3/4's of this package, I'm still so tempted to just buy the whole damned thing again. Especially since my old roomie jacked my BGII:ToB CD.

Well damn, I may just have to pick this up to reduce shelf space taken up. Guess it's time to sell all the others and reduce the price of this one.

Thanks for the pics. Nice plug for Batman...

Has anyone tried out Dragonshard? I had barely heard of it before receiving the game today, and I was pretty surprised to see the fairly high score GameSpot gave it.

Yes, I tried it out. I didn't like it at all. Can't remember exactly why. I remember installing it, starting it, and trying to play it. I exited and uninstalled after a short time. I may have to try it out again to see why, maybe give it more of a chance.

Not intentional. It was the first DVD I grabbed, and I still have to watch it. It has been sitting around for a while.

This is such a great collection. I think I have all the games individually. They're insane not to be cranking this out....

I havn't seen the pack in a while. I am just glad I picked mine up even though I already owned almost all of them individually. The fact that they did some work on them to make them vista compatible (when almost all of them were not originally) made it worth it. These are all STILL good to great games.

ill keep my eye out online then.

The lack of listings in certain places (like amazon) makes me think that this was store-specific
