Can someone tell me how to get the 50 rebate? I've never done one before. All i have is a invoice letter that has "This is not an invoce" written across it. What am i supposed to do?

By the way... I love this monitor

umm about that 3 year warranty thing...Samsung gives 3 year warranties, at least they did on my 900NF SyncMaster...the fact that their stupid service thing kinda screwed up my monitor(it blew up upon my trying to power it up lol) is besides the point. KDS also offers 3 year warranties...Samsung lets you bring it in so no shipping charges either =)

Picked one up at my local staples. $199 price is available only in-store, not on-line. Talked them into letting me buy it for $158 tax included. Looks great at 1024 x 768 res.

I just got mine... 1280x1024 100hz looks awesome to me! The test towards the bottom in the center is a tad blurry but the rest of it is fine. For 100 bucks i ain't gonna bitch. It blows my burned up 17 out of the water.

That's what I had mine set at too. Text still wasn't as clear as it should have been.

I've given up on the 910e. After returning 3 different monitors I'll wait for another deal.

Does anyone have any input on the NEC Multisync 95? Mgr offered to take $50 off for me in place of the Envision. I told him I'd have to get some info on the monitor before I bought it. I posted a msg in the peripherals forum asking for input but no ones responded

My sympathies to those who had bad luck with this monitor. Gotta tell ya, it's a great deal for me. As clear and as sharp as you have any right to expect for the price. (The advice about enabling the Microsoft fonts helps, as well).

Thanks to Anandtech and the contributors for a great deal.

Is this product currently availible for $100?

I don't see a rebate anymore, and I only see a 50 off 200 so that would mean 229.98-50 = 179.98 != hot deal.

Well I ordered this monitor on Aug 21st. The delivery driver pulled up the next day and I went out to greet her. I saw she was loading up a big box that said COMPAQ on it. I told her "I hope that's not what's in the box, cause it's not what I ordered." She proceeded to tell me that it wasn't her problem, she doen't work for $taples, they just use her Delivery companies services. After opening the box I found a Compaq Presario 4409CL Desktop PC with a compaq CV7500 monitor (Celeron 1400MHz, 256MB PC133, 20GB HD, 40X CDRW, 16X DVD-ROM, blah, blah, blah...) ...the same one they are advertising on their flyer this week for $599 after $200 MSN savings. Guess that means I'll miss out on the Envision rebate

Plagiarized from ninjaman on f*tw*llet"

For those with blurry text or just want clearer text in general:

turn on clear type
from microsoft.com

"Turn on Windows XP ClearType
With Windows XP, ClearType delivers improved font display resolution over traditional anti-aliasing. It improves readability on color LCD monitors with a digital interface, such as those in laptops and high-quality flat desktop displays. Readability on CRT screens can also be somewhat improved."

It does say win XP but works for Win 98, 2000 and NT as well. I turned mine on from that XP page using 98. In theory it makes text on screen more clear, maybe it does maybe it doesnt.

Ok, you told us how it works, but you didn't tell us how to find and make it work. Unless I missed it somewhere in your post.

EDIT: Or I could just go to chubbywallet and find it myself.

Was this really necessary? I think MuthaFaker was only joking.

This monitor has a nice price, but not a nice performance. Sometimes this monitor would flicker once and awhile, and start to hurt my eyes!!!! But hey what do you expect for a $100 monitor. For the price this is nice, but if the price was close to a samsung or a much more reliable labeled monitor, I would rather much buy the better much respected monitor.

Are you sure you have the refresh rate set high enough?
I am running mine at 1152 x 864 x16bit color @ 75 hrz on a Nvidia Riva TNT 32 meg card and it is dam near perfect!!!!!!!

BTW, the difference between ClearType and regular anti-aliasing can be very subtle on a CRT, but on an LCD, it's truly dramatic. Amazing, I'm tempted to say.

so is this monitor good or not? i ordered one before the rebate deadline, but its not gonna come till tomorrow or the day after. i don't really want to waste a 19 incher on 1024x768 but if you can't read it, then that isn't good. does it matter your connection or video card? i just have a rafe fury pro, no dvi or anything. guess i'll have to see when it comes

Test it and see what you think.

I didn't have any luck at all with the 3 I tried. I couldn't go above 1024 x768 without the text looking blurry to the point that it gave me bad headaches. I had the refresh rate set at 75hrz & 32bit color with an Nvidia GF2 card.

I'm tempted to give it another shot but after 3 different monitors having the same problem I got the feeling I wasn't meant to own this one.

Does anyone still have a copy of the rebate? I have copies of my original UPC and my receipt, but I lost the rebate... please can anyone help me? PM or email will be greatly appreciated!! I sent in my rebate a while ago, but after a few weeks I could not track it online.. and so I emailed staples (well.. parago i guess) and they told me they could not locate it... I think i'm being screwed over... so if anyone can find a copy of the rebate, that would help a lot thank!
