Envision 19" LCD monitor

The thing about this monitor that other 19" monitors in its class don't have is it has DVI, I don't think you will get a 19" DVI lcd new for 399 anytime soon IMO. Also, gaming on this monitor is fine. The games I have played on it have no ghosting that I can find. I'm using DVI in on a radeon 9800pro and the monitor looks great.

I went to another staples and decided to talk to them in person. I asked about "save our sale" and they said something about it not applying since it is a clearance item. item f they called it. They also said that if they were to have it shipped out to another staples (one near me), I would have to pay for the shipping myself.
I spoke to the manager about it so that I would get a straight answer, in the end he said that it wasn't part of his job to call other staples locations. I figure I'll try again at a different location tomorrow and see what happens. I would really like to get in on this deal, but I think I just have asses for customer reps in my area.

envision lcds are actually quite nice. one of the better brands @ that price level. costco had this lcd for $400 late last year and it was an extremely hot deal.

I was also told that, the "Save Our Sale" option is not valid on Clearance items. Although, there was a display model at a location near Suwanee, but the fact that its on 8 hours a day, shouldnt make a difference, but it does make it less appealing to me...

I picked up one of these from the sale at Costo a while back and I'm very pleased with it.
Using it thru the standard VGA connector, and has better display quality than many others
in the lower price ranges. I set it at 1024 x 768 and generally it's used for business and
charting applications. I'd buy one again...

Just got the last one (new in box) at Staples. Used a $20 coupon too! $406 out the door. Thanks! We'll see how it compares to my $510 Dell 1901FP.

DVI is essential for a monitor with SXGA(1280x1024) or higher resolution if you know how they should look like. I don't understand why DVI monitors have to be that more expensive. Theoretically a DVI only monitor should be a lot simpler than analog monitors (LCD is essentially a digital monitor. making it analog requires a lot of electronics) and DVI chips should be sold for way less than $10 including the additional connector.

It is just a rip-off from the retailers. DVI is a mercedes but you don't have to pay the price of a merc.

i bought a 19'' Envision CRT monitor about 3 years ago. Works really good. No problems what so ever. I play games, program, browse....everything is pretty good quality. I would love to get a 19'' lcd but don't have $400 to spend at the moment.

I got this monitor when it was on sale at Costco..around thanksgiving last year....this is an excellent 19in monitor...while I am probably not a hardcore gamer like some..I think it looked better with UT2K3 vs my 19in Samsung 900IFT

it has 25ms response rate but I do not have a problem IMHO with ghosting

I love this monitor and use with a 9700 pro via DVI

where can you get a nice quality 19in LCD for $400...I may try to get this at staples as a new monitor for my son..we need the desk space..otherwise I will look for a 15in...I have 3 staples near me...

BTW..text, graphics and video look very good...again better than my crts...

are there better 19in lcd, of course..but nothing is close for $400..also I have read that the panel is same 19in as many other brands..like Sony, some others they just charge more..I remember when i got last year I was watching adds for 19in lcd..many had exact same specs and were $200-$400 more

Also 1600x1200 for everyday use would be way too small for my eyes..1280x1024 looks great...I realize for gaming with a high end card 1600x1200 would be a better option

I use it at 1024x768 for most games(like Far Cry) since my 9700 pro will not keep up probably..and does this resolution fine
