People have had success using coupons and rebates before. Not to put staples down(oh hell yes i am!) but they are not that sophisticated to catch this in the rebate process.
But your right it may be a concern! If that happens I just tell tem keep your 30$ and i'll take the 80, 100$ still aint bad...

Guys:

The CSR from Staples I spoke with specifically said that STAPLES REBATE CODES will NEVER negate a MANUFACTURER-sponsored MIR.

So, in other words, if you've got an INSTANT REBATE code from Staples ($30 off $100, $30 off $150, $40 off $200, whatever) it will NEVER overrule or void the MANUFACTURER MIR. It may, however, negate any STAPLES-sponsored MIRs.

Just a headsup, I know this presents a problem for lots of n00bs out there.

From what I see on this monitor, the rebate IS FROM STAPLES.

So, does using a coupon negate it or not? I don't see a phone number on the rebate form to call.

OOS. Put it in my cart last night and just tried to check out this morning. Not only did it tell me OOS but then it cleared my cart. Guess I'll try later. Rebate says it's good until 2/25. Got to watch them though, I have seen them change the ending date of an online rebate to close it out early. So I print out all my rebate info and forms early on.

Jinx1214,

They may have sent you the wrong monitor. While this seems like a windfall right now, you might want to think about the potential issue you may encounter with the rebate. Your UPC code will not match the one they are expecting. So you will end up with the proper receipt but wrong UPC code. It's creates somewhat of a difficult situation. Do you call them and alert them in order to be sure you will get the rebate, but risk them realizing their mistake and asking for the monitor back; or do you just send it in and risk not getting the rebate and fight it out later? Decisions decisions.

I ordered one of the Envision 17" monitors on Sunday, along with some of the soft attaches and the pens. The next day I checked my order status via the website and the monitor was gone from my order and was listed as out of stock when I tried to add it to my cart. I assumed they removed it from my order since it was out of stock. I was never sent an email confirmation.

On Monday afternoon the monitor was again listed as in stock and I placed a second order. I received an email confirmation in a few hours. This monitor was delivered the next day, Tuesday. Later that day I checked the status of the first order and the monitor was still deleted from that order. The other items were "processing" but listed a delivery date of that day (2/20).

Today, you guessed it, the monitor that was ordered on Sunday, and I thought was deleted, was delivered. I just checked the order status for that Sunday order and it now has the monitor listed and says I should expect it on the 26th.

Staples.com - how do they stay in business?

I got one to be used on a low-end system. The quality is average at best. Small text looks a little out-of focus. For example, running on my Radeon card at 1024x768, the "e" in "Recycle Bin" almost looks like a filled-in "o". The same text is crystal clear on my .22dp Samsung 700ift. My Dell monitor at the office comes in somewhere between those two. But the Envision is bright, and the blacks and colors look pretty good. Can't complain for the price, I'd say it's a bargain at $69.

Whoo hoo, got my monitor today... 19 hr shipping... got to love it! Its an Envision box, so i'm gonna guess its an Envision monitor inside. OH well, not gonna complain if its only $70 (well, $150 until rebate)...

YES! Tried to get in on this the other day but it showed out of stock, but I just went back and got it. Really hope the rebate is valid in combination with the $30 off coupon I used. If it is, $69 plus tax for a shipped 17" mon is the best deal I've scored here. Thank you for the post!

Got the EN-710 monitor on Friday. Picture quality sucks. The characters are very fuzzy and washout with some other background colors. It does not have extended controls (e.g. moire, color, etc.) or On Screen Display. It appears to be using monitor technology from several years ago. This monitor is not worth $70 + tax much less the retail price of $180. The Pixies they had a few months ago had better picture quality and more controls and was $10 less (after the deal) than the Envision. I plan to return it to Staples for a replacement. Hope I just got a bad one. If the replacement sucks I will send it back and get a refund.

BTW, when I visited the local CompUSA a few days ago I noticed that they have replaced the Pixie monitors with the Envisions as their low end, value monitors.

EDIT: Called staples 2/26 and asked for a replacement. CSR said none in stock anywhere. He didn't know when or if they would get anymore, was a special promo deal. I asked for return and credit, he said ok. BTW, I tried various resolutions and settings to fix the problems I was having but they didn't work. I guess these monitors are low quality in addition to being low end models. This could explain why the screen quality is average on some and lower on others.

I received mine on Friday.
After reading Linyap's post, I though I would unbox and test mine.

The picture is fuzzy and hard on the eyes. :Q
Tried different resolutions and color modes and no difference.
I will definitely be returning this unit to Staples. No doubt!!!

Junk by any other name (Envision) can only mean the same.

Hey! I'm a poet and don't even know it.

Mine looks fine, i bumped up the refresh rate to 85Mhz and up the brightness and contrast a bit...Since this is a low end monitor I wouldn't expect people to spend hours upon hours looking at it, hence the term low end...
If you plan on using this a lot spend some more bux...my son is on the computer a couple of hours a week so its fine for him,
My test was not fuzzy and the picture quality was definitly on par with a pixie

I must live in the area of the slowest staples! I ordered one on 2/16, they told me it was out of stock, I reordered on 2/20 and it's not scheduled to be delivered til 2/28! What happened to the "Ships in 1-2 days"? I wish I could test the quality of this monitor
