eOn is a distibuting computing project that seems somewhat interesting to me. It is working on chemistry/physic calculations.
eOn can be run as a screensaver or as a text based client.
The best part of the project, IMHO, is that there are very few participating teams. Team AnandTech is currently in 9th place with only my output from about a half day on an AthlonXP 1800+.
The worst part seems to be that it requires a constant connection to the internet so dial-up people are out of luck.

I'm not trying to get people to switch from their favorite project to this. Actually D2OL will remain my main project. I just though people who are already searching for a new project might find this one interesting.
TIP: If you install the eOn client, give your e-mail address when it asks for a username. You will have a chance to choose a nickname later on the eOn stats system and have your e-mail address hidden.
