I decided to try to run eOn again and may have messed up Team AnandTech's stats in the process.

I wanted to make sure my work was going to be credited to Team AnandTech so I edited my profile and in the process temporarily joined another team with the idea that I would jump right back to Team AnandTech. Unfortunately Team AnandTech dissappeared when I switched to the other team, probably because I was the creator of the TA team at eOn.

An e-mail has been sent to the powers that be at eOn to see if they can restore the TA's stats, but I have not yet received a reply. Hopefully they can straighten this out. My apologies, especially if the TeAm loses any stats permenently because of this.

Not much if anything was lost.

Graeme was fast and curtious. I'll try to do more eOn.

There has been much more water pass under the bridge wince the previous post on this thread. Eon is rocking along pretty good now. The latest clients are at http://eon.cm.utexas.edu/ where there are both windows and linux clients. I'm a linux freak so this is a good project for me. The present linux client is a static linked one. I moved a small account back to TeAm Anandtech on the Eon project as there are still a few members there. This client is much much faster than the pre-UTexas project. Graeme says that the windows client presently runs about half the speed of the linux client. So if you have a linux box just happening to be sitting around, this is a real good project for it. XP1700/1800's work just fine on it as do durons. Currently there is some action going on between Free-DC and US-Distributed. Getting some more teams interested in this project would be nice. It has a good long life ahead of it, with lots of work. The server is handling the loading quite well. It is a good science project, helps students at a university, and under the design of the system it would be extremely difficult if not imposible for cheating. Also due to the methodology utilized in attacking the problem caching is not possible. Graeme has entered a few more comments and answered some questions on the Free-DC forum eon thread, and there is the Eon Forum that is hosted by Free-DC.

Stats are on the eon web site, and also Bok has done some real good eon stats on the FDC site. Graeme said that they will also be adding more on the eon site. For those that got a real kick out of crunching DF, and LM, this project has the same excitement. If you have questions or comments either post here or send me a PM. I'd sure like to see Anandtech enter the game on this one.
