College used to be a holy grail.
Yeah it was, back when the wealthy were paying upwards of 70% in income taxes.
College used to be a holy grail.
Haha. "Socialism based policies." Umm, no. Our greed based capitalistic policies have ensured marketing of 100k loans to mere children and the pure capitalist/randyian policies of eliminating jobs through outsourcing, removing of union based jobs race to the bottom have complimented the extreme college costs by giving people no option aside from going to college to compete.
wow? ok?
When capitalist greed runs the system, you get the US' healthcare costs, college costs, and worldwide economic collapses every 20 years or so. Booga booga socialism!
Um, you realize colleges are run by the government and most student loans are from the government, right?
Some colleges are run by State governments, but most student loans originate from the Federal government. Many colleges are also privately owned and operated.

lolol Move those damn bricks in her back yard.
Pft - at the interest rate he charges the deadbeats he lends money to its no surprise
Eh - there is a lot to be said for a balance. I will say the pendulum has swung a bit far to the life side though
Maybe, but based on many of the asinine comments in this thread, maybe not.I think he realized that. Also you can use Federal Loans to pay for private schools.

She obviously makes enough money to afford $6 per pack smokes....or what ever they sell for these days.

What in the world? Not even close.
First of all, some state colleges get subsidies from the state to lower costs. They are not RUN by the state. Then there is the huge amount of private colleges.
Also, state subsidy support has declined over the last 25 years. A stark contrast to the ridiculous claims of "socialism," which would be the exact opposite. As usual, facts are the kryptonite of Alkemyst's claims.

This thread makes me sad when we still can't find people for my line of work. The starting salary with 3 years of experience is six figures, with full benefits and incentives, and 45 hour work weeks.
Accounting information systems.
