Haha. "Socialism based policies." Umm, no. Our greed based capitalistic policies have ensured marketing of 100k loans to mere children and the pure capitalist/randyian policies of eliminating jobs through outsourcing, removing of union based jobs race to the bottom have complimented the extreme college costs by giving people no option aside from going to college to compete.

wow? ok?

Life's not fair. Deal with it.

Though of course children these days aren't taught how to deal with failure, which is probably why they are failing...

When capitalist greed runs the system, you get the US' healthcare costs, college costs, and worldwide economic collapses every 20 years or so. Booga booga socialism!

Um, you realize colleges are run by the government and most student loans are from the government, right?

Some colleges are run by State governments, but most student loans originate from the Federal government. Many colleges are also privately owned and operated.

I think he realized that. Also you can use Federal Loans to pay for private schools.

Pft - at the interest rate he charges the deadbeats he lends money to its no surprise

Eh - there is a lot to be said for a balance. I will say the pendulum has swung a bit far to the life side though

Quite honestly though, that is the last thing you should have in your Linkin profile. Life balance is something that is entirely in your power and often you don't attain some balance until you start a family or your career is near it's peak. That translates to mid 30's or later. For a twenty something, life work balance is a noble goal, but you're probably going to have to focus more on the work thing if you want to end up someplace in your career that can provide and actually promote the balance for you.

What in the world? Not even close.

First of all, some state colleges get subsidies from the state to lower costs. They are not RUN by the state. Then there is the huge amount of private colleges.

Also, state subsidy support has declined over the last 25 years. A stark contrast to the ridiculous claims of "socialism," which would be the exact opposite. As usual, facts are the kryptonite of Alkemyst's claims.

I am not sure why you also turn to the ad hominem arguement, that's pretty typical of you. Also you prove others wrong by usually starting a different argument than what is being discussed.

Do you even know what you are arguing ever?

That's one of the sadest things today. You listen to someone speak about their money problems and with their last breath, they whip out a pack of cigarettes and ask if you mind they light up.

I was never a smoker myself, but I think the average those I know were smoking that were was a pack to two packs a day.

That's $300-600 PER MONTH enough for a very nice new car payment yet some rely on public transportation because they can't afford a vehicle.

$600 should cover a used economy car, insurance and gas/maintenance nicely.

The fed backs up student loans.

Which is actually part of the problem. Its not helping.

Why should someone tell you how much you should be able to borrow?

People need to be responsible for themselves and not have the government telling them commonsense shit.

YOU claimed that capitalism is why school is becoming more expensive. I never claimed anything about socialism.

This thread makes me sad when we still can't find people for my line of work. The starting salary with 3 years of experience is six figures, with full benefits and incentives, and 45 hour work weeks.
