Hypocrites, you've all never driven over the speed limit?
And 5 times in 8 years is NOTHING if you happen to live in a busy area with speed traps.
Congrats Syringer.
Agree. In a very busy metropolitan area, a radar detector will not help you too much. On a busy highway with lots of exit ramps, loops and bridges, the speed limit may be 55MPH but traffic moves at 65-70MPH. 100's of hiding places for the man and your detector is always beeping away anyway.
Now the open highway is a different story...but even then, instant-on laser is a bitch.

99% are bullshit? you can avoid getting a ticket 100% of the time by not speeding. The laws on speeding aren't hard to prevent. If you speed you run the risk of getting caught, if you drive within the limit there is no possible chance of getting pulled over. I have always had horribly bad luck with Police, so I choose to never risk it as I know the first time I do I'd probably get nailed
and yes, people breaking laws do generate revenue for the country/city, go figure...
I'm not insulting anyone who chooses to speed, that's their choice. But they do run the risk of getting caught, I don't speed, ever. And oddly enough I've never been pulled over for speeding.

Used the Ticket Assasssin method--5 tickets in 8 years of driving--0 points
This is why California is in a budget crisis.
Good job - I've got three court dates over the next year 10 months to fight tickets (2 legit speeding, one BS "rolling" through a stop sign). Lifetime I'm 3-0-1 when going to court to fight tickets.
To all you "slow down" losers - I've been driving a long time and I've never caused an accident of any kind. There's a big difference between speeding and reckless driving.

I got a speeding ticket, I am gonna contest it, but they have not sent me a court date yet.
MA is cutting budget like crazy.....ofcourse, in the budget cuts, police overtime was not included. Looks like the officer is gonna show up at my case...that is if they give me one.
