How was that course? Can you just let it run and watch TV? Or is a a presentation that you have to sit througg? Can you atleast surf the net while it is running?

While i don't speed anymore and do try to drive as safe as i can. Good for the OP for fighting it.

Used the Ticket Assasssin method--5 tickets in 8 years of driving--0 points

This is why California is in a budget crisis.

Good job - I've got three court dates over the next year 10 months to fight tickets (2 legit speeding, one BS "rolling" through a stop sign). Lifetime I'm 3-0-1 when going to court to fight tickets.

To all you "slow down" losers - I've been driving a long time and I've never caused an accident of any kind. There's a big difference between speeding and reckless driving.

no there's not.

Yes, there is.

This thread could easily be turned into an epic fail.

He posted a picture of his ticket, complete with case number, and then admits to speeding in the thread.

You only have to know the right person to send this information along too...

Other than forgetting to get new tags for my car and getting pulled over for a reminder, I haven't even been pulled over in 8 years, let alone been given a ticket. Good lord, Spiders should not be behind the wheel.

I was pulled over for the very first time a couple days ago. I got lucky as fuck too - guy noticed my record was clean so he just gave me a warning.

I shouldn't be needing "Ticket Assassin" anytime soon. I want to keep my clean record.

no there's not.

YES THERE IS. The dumb bitch that almost t-boned me on campus because she was on her phone and did not look towards oncoming traffic before making a left turn, was NOT speeding. The dumb bitch that ran me onto a median by lane-changing in an intersection, was NOT speeding. I speed. I've been in 0 accidents, I have 0 "near misses." I pay attention when I drive. At any given point I can tell you what car is to my left, my right, and behind me. Ever hear the "race car" driver mirror thing (I know its origins are probably urban myth)? Check all three mirrors every few seconds, know your surroundings. Grandma doing 45 MPH on I-75 in a 70 MPH zone is more dangerous to traffic than me doing 80 MPH in the left lane.

Just like that 55 MPH national speed limit, right?

I did read your other post. 80 on a 70 MPH interstate highway isn't unreasonable at all. This is the same 70 MPH highway that also had a 55 MPH national speed limit imposed on it, when 70 MPH was perfectly safe.

You know what's more dangerous than speeding? Dumb fucks who cannot understand SLOWER TRAFFIC MOVE RIGHT signs on the highway.

Yeah, totally agreed. I have to look at everyone around me and pay attention for them because I know they aren't doing it themselves. Speed, by itself, does not cause accidents. It does, however, make things more dangerous if the person speeding is also distracted, because they have less time to react and the potential damage is greater.

The kids should be in school. Unless you're driving 80 mph into the school building...

As for kids crossing the street, stop sign = cars have to stop anyway.

And it's already illegal to pass a bus while it's dropping kids off, but that's a good rule.

Speed alone can and does cause accidents. Not on interstates, but on highways which feature T and Crossroad intersections. These speed limits are set so that a driver can have minimum 5-7 seconds of sight distacne to enter or cross traffic. Speeding cars can limit this down to 3 seconds. Driver pulls out, accident happens. Usually the driver at the stopsign gets the sitation for failure to yield, because its impossible to prove the other car was speeding. BUT the SPEEDING was the EXACT EXCLUSIVE cause for this accident.

I still say it comes down to inattentiveness. If someone pulls out into the road while you're speeding, you should still have enough time to move into the other lane or, if the other lane is occupied, you can slow down.

It takes several seconds from when a car starts pulling out into the road until the driver in that lane reaches the intersection. Three seconds is more than enough time to slow down for that person. If you do hit them anyway, then either they weren't paying attention and pulled out with too small a gap, or you weren't paying attention and didn't slow down when you should have.
