tru dat I actually want to kill these people. Is it wrong that I feel actual compulsions of violence against these two? No, I think it isn't. I'm angry at such a waste of life. We have people across the world dying and then we have these two who are actually able to sit on their ass for 4.5 months waiting for a movie. It's just not right and they don't deserve to live.

I think people are annoyed by the N 'sync fiasco because it's a calculated scheme to bring in more money. It doesn't matter if they had 5 minutes of screen time or 5 seconds, the fact remains that Lucas brought them to the movie to get more money. I wouldn't be surprised if the script of EP 2 and 3 are written in spreadsheet-program so they can instantly check what plotlines bring in more money.

What's in store for EP3? Britney Spears as Queen Amidalas evils sister? They find a planet inhabited by Pokemons? Looking at the N 'Sync-fiasco, I wouldn't be surprised...

Precisely. I remember an interview with Lucas before EP1 came out and he mentinoed something about how they were going to do something or rather but he didn't want to because it was cost-prohibitive. I was thinking "What the hell? This movie will blow the box office apart. What's the big deal?". I realize this is a business but he can't be hurting for money and wouldn't you rather finish up your movie career (since there will be only two more SPs) with a better release than the more cost efficient, since you're already damn rich anyway?

actually, about nsync, what is currently going around is that george had nothing to do with it, and neither did his daughters. it was all rick mccallum. he heard the guys were fans of the movies, and invited them to be extras. apparently it's only going to be 3 of the 5 guys, meaning no justin or jc (the two most popular guys, undoubtedly)

ah come on. you know that padme and anakin get married. you gotta see how they fall in love. there is supposed to be a few spectacular battle scenes and (spoilers ahead, be wary) yoda wielding a light saber, along with mace windu messing people up also. it's also anakin's descent into the darkside.

episode 3 should be the best, (well probably after empire...) as it ties up all the loose ends between the prequels and the trilogy.

My personal opinion is that Lucas is attempting to make each movie WORSE than it's prior. Except for Empire (which he did not direct, along with Return) it has been par for the last two movies.

Why is he doing this? So no one forces him to make three more movies. He's sick to death of the series, the fanboys, the whole lifestyle, whatever.

My image for Episode Three? Sock puppets for the majority of the movie. Followed by a 15 minute monologue by Lucas himself, telling you, the viewer, in detail how sick to death he is of making the movies. And how you just spent your hard earned money seeing this crap. Then he will drop trow and moon the audience, and wipe his hairy rear with YOUR hard earned money.

I can't wait to see what the Episode Three toys look like...

Uh, yea it has. I've seen multiple articles bringing the fact that Nsync is in Episode 2 to light. I'm sure as it gets closer and closer to showtime everyone will know about it. You sound like the people that thought LOTR wasn't being advertised and the only people that would see it would be hardcore bookreaders, yet when the time came, everyone knew about the film. When the time comes, everyone will know about Nsync being in it. I can just see the MTV interviews now.

NYSNC is in there just to attract a bigger female audience. I don't care if they are a fan of the series or not, theres TONS more respectable celebrities they could have picked. Everyone knows they are in the movie simply for Star Wars to make more money and nothing else. Nothing wrong with greed over quality, except when you are trying to keep an all-time favorite movie series and leave it as a legacy...

The story is far from fascinating and the acting is sub-par. Star Wars was great, in its time. But now theres much more interesting story lines and much better actors/actresses.

Yea but the mentions I've seen of them being in it say that they are their for a very short time, in the background, barely in focus. One of those, blink and you miss them type things. If that's the case, it doesn't sound like a big deal to me.

What Lucas & managers are doing is simple. They are trying to recruit the next generation of Star Wars fans to buy Star Wars branded/themed stuff. EP1 was marketed towards 8-10 year olds, mostly so that their parents would go out and buy jar-jar binks toys. This movie is marketed towards those same kids, who are now 10-12 years old. They'll get thier parents to buy more action figures and a few video games. The third movie will be marketed towards them when they are 12-14. They'll be buying shirts, jackets, video games, DVDs and anything else that comes out with the Star Wars name on it until theyre 17-19.

No, I'm not looking at excuses to be pissed off at Lucas. I WANT Ep 2 to be the best Star Wars there is. But I can't help but to be afraid.

What bothers me is that SW has been moving farther away from being an awesome story in to a commercial venture. Yes, I know there were ALOT of toys sold on the back of the original series. But then it was story first, toys second. Now they seem to custom-design the movie to maximise add-on profits, merchandise and the number of people who will see it. They are trying to please all that bring in money (kids, their parents etc), but they end up creating a movie that is average in every way. When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no-one.

And no, It's not because I saw the original series when I was a kid. I can still watch them and love them (well, Ep VI with Ewoks is pushing it), but the new series... I dunno.

Lucas has never been good director. But he has been awesome storyteller! But with the new series, he's an accountant first, storyteller second (and a director 354th).

Yes, I know that I have no right to, but I still feel betrayed as a fan. I will go and see Ep 2 as soon as possible... But I'm not feeling optimistic.

N 'Sync is not the cause of that. N 'Sync is just the symptom. It shows where the values of the moviemakers lie.

It is an awsome story that has continued far before and after episodes 1-6. I am a huge fan of Star Wars and I have yet to finish the novels. I have currently read about 25 of them and I am not even half way through.

Vader is in his suit because of a battle he has with OB1. OB1 cuts throught his chest almost killing him. He lives because of his closeness with the Dark Side and the help of "Portable Iron Lung" that he wears.

Yoda is a kick ass fighter. He killed a dark jedi in the swamps of Degoba and the dark essence of that jedi still inhabits the place where he died. The tree the dark jedi died against is above the cave the Luke goes into and has the vision.

Where the hell do you think Luke came from? Why do you think Vader turned evil? It's all because of a woman. Personally , I think its going to be a good film. The thing people dont realize about star wars ep1, was that it was EXACTLY like the original 3, with amped special effects. Same 'corny' storylines, same 'corny' acting... TheKidd, have you ever seen Indiana Jones? Willow? American Graffitti? Radioland Murders? or are you simply basing your opinion on one movie that you may have not liked? Open your eyes. >>

I am confident that while Lucas is a brilliant technical innovator, he is not a great filmmaker. Even though American Graffiti and the original Star Wars were good.
