For those wondering what they are, Epods are small Windows CE devices that were originally sold below cost. The product was developed to only be useable with Epods $21.95 a month Internet Access. People soon discovered how to hack the device to run Windows CE and several apps. The company went out of business and now at $499 the devices are not such a great deal.
Very nice for $200, which is the price I got at Amazon. It's mainly used by my sister and mother, who are both [INSERT LONG WORD FOR FEAR OF COMPUTERS]'s. After updating it to the latest WinCE, it's quite nice.
These things look pretty cool, too bad no one has figured out a way to get more functionality out of them via WinDoze 9x (IOpeners and WebSurfers)...though I'm sure its only a matter of time before someone manages to crack that task.
Don't get your hopes up too high. The ePods, unlike the I-Opener and Websurfer doesn't use an x86 processor. There is no version of Windows 9x for MIPS CPUs. The best bet right now is Linux or NetBSD.
