For those of you who haven't downloaded the latest BIOS for your board, here is what you are missing:

Enhancements & Fixes for this BIOS release:
Added code to show message of Hyper Threading CPU (INTEL regulation).
Added "APIC_4S_14" (MPS Version Control for OS) force Ver1.4. Solve
NVin lose "-". Control APIC Function by Hyper Threading Function.
H.T. Function Enable then APIC Enable and item shaded. H.T Function
Disable then APIC can select En/Disable. (No-Fault) Define
"PciLanROM_Control_by_chipset" for solve LAN control. Bootrom
disabled but PCI slot same device LAN will boot from LAN. Added
"PCILANROM_ItemName" for deference PCI LAN. To support 3:4 and 4:5
at any time. To solve the Vcore show Voltage departure. To solve
5VSB value is not correct at define. To solve system will hang up
at POST "AA"(h) after exit from BIOS setup menu by press F10, If
FSB400 and DDR 200 at the last boot. Modify default to enabled
USB2.0 controller. To solve USB mouse can?t enabled. To solve plug
USB 5 in 1 card reader hang up at POST.


Definitely worth a flash, especially for the 3:4 and 4:5 ratios. I have been enjoying the 3:4 ratio since I bought my 4G4A+, at least until the chipset gives up around 157 FSB.

I just downloaded this BIOS for my 4PEA+

and I DO NOT get the 4:5 ratio unlocked for my memory, and I really need it cause I am running 160+ FSB and memory dont go past 420mhz or so.... 3:4 is way too aggressive for it and 1:1 SUXORS!

any reason why it dont show my 4:5?

I havea P4 1.8A OCed to 2.97ghz and YES I did unclock it when I updated, I updated BIOS by the book.

I really really need that 4:5

Probably a 533fsb P4 triggers the 4:5 ratio.

I think you are right.
is there only one bios release for the 4PEA? i might try flashing too.

There is one flash that is newer, by two days, it is just a fix for the bios always showing "PC3200" memory.

I think Tates is right about the memory ratios. I have read many people in other forums not getting both sets, but it is probably because they are running Northwood A's.

Gentarken, I think the best solution to your problem it to get better RAM. I don't benchmark much, but I do use 3DMark 2001 to monitor my progress. I have noticed that I get the same score at 2.8 GHz with the 3:4 as I do at 2.9 with the 4:5. So I think the 3:4 is worth running, even if it means not running your CPU at max speed.
