Epox 8k5a3+

First of all, i know that there is an official 8k5a topic.

Second , my question is about the Epox 8k5a3+ motherboard.

My config is now like this:
Athlon XP 2200+
2x 512 Infineon DDR pc2700
pioneer dvd player
plexwriter cd writer
Pci firewire card
Asus v8460 graphics card
1 x maxtor 30 gb
1 x maxtor 80 gb
and ofcourse, the epox 8k5a3+ motherboard.


What i would like to know is how to setup this system from scratch.

I have installed windows 2000 having only HD 1 in ide1 and cdrom in ide2.
Windows is now installed, and i plug everything into its place :
- cd writer in ide 1
- dvd in ide 2
- Maxtor 30 gb in ide 3
- maxtor 80 gb in ide 4

All drives are in MASTER

Is this a good IDE setup ??

Anyway... when i boot the system, the highpoint shows nothing.
I tried looking into the bios, maybe i had to enable this.....but couldn't find anything.

How can i make the 'highpoint' to detect my stuff ???

Because in windows 2000 it doesn't detect any scsi & raid controllers also....

Please help !!

i just want a good step-by-step setup tutorial....

What's the difference between the 8k5a3+ and the 8k5a2+ just curious......?

Epox 8K5A2+ => HPT 372 RAID Controller and 3 DIMM slots
Epox 8K5A3+ => HPT 374 RAID Controller and 4 DIMM slots

And about the Chappo question I think you wont have any problems with that.
You have to ENABLE the RAID controller in the BIOS.
Once Enabled you will be able to get in the HPT BIOS to config.
