hi all,

I just got my epox 8k7a+ with K7 1.4ghz, and installed win2k, everything is fine, but somehow my machine freezes quite often and my mouse moves around/flicker itself once in a while.

it freezes when I leave it on too long (sometimes 3 hours, sometimes 10 hours, it varies) and in the event viewer in administration tools in control panel, I have so many errors:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: HPT3xxNT
Event Category: None
Event ID: 9
Date: 9/23/2001
Time: 9:26:36 AM
User: N/A
Computer: CR485598-A
Description:
The device, \Device\Scsi\HPT3xxNT1, did not respond within the timeout period.

It has so many of this errors showing there

I am currently using the hpt370 (the version from the box the disk I got from them)

Any sugguestions on how to fix this problem? I didn't overclock or anything.

As well, could it be my irq problem?

My current irq settings are:

IRQ Number Device
1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
3 Communications Port (COM2)
4 Communications Port (COM1)
5 Hauppauge Win/TV 878/9 VFW Audio Driver

I've heard the 103b drivers for 2k work the best for the highpoint controller.

hi, thanks for you guys information, I installed the 1.20 and hopefully it will work, if not, I'll try the 1.03B. So is there anything I should do to the bios or anything else? and when I updated the HPT370 UDMA/ATA100 RAID driver to 1.20, do I need to do anything with the Highpoint RCM Device? I tried to upgraded it with the 1.20 driver as well, but it turned out the Driver Version: 1.0.94.21616. Is that suppose to be? Anyways, hope the 1.20 will help, we'll see by tomorrow, I'm leaving my computer on tonight and if it freezes (touch wood) again, I'll try the 1.03B.....anymore sugguestions people? Please??? I really want to get this done. What else should I do? Thanks for your input.!!!!
