If you need the LAN, sound, and RAID controller provided by the Dragon+ then it is your only choice. If you want to do some extreme overclocking, the 8KHA+ is a better choice. The 8KHA+ is also a better choice if the extra features included with the Dragon+ aren't needed by you. I have the 8KHA+. It my be the best motherboard I have ever owned.

Same as Bonivicis!!

And... also HOW much Moolah you got?? $90 for the Epox (extra money from faster CPU and other things)
or $146 for the Soyo Dragon+ (you wont need sound, NIC..maybe a slower CPU depending on cash)

I have to give my vote to the Dragon+ since I own it and it rules, but if I were to purchase another KT266a mobo, the EPoX would definitely be on my short list of boards to consider (along with Asus and Abit).

If you're asking, then you must not need RAID. Go with the 8KHA+ and save some serious $. Now that the bios chips are pretty much all good, well, it's all good

ill vote for the dragon+

some of the reasons...

it has one of the best manuals ive ever seen for a mobo,

it has a smart card reader which includes 2 extra usb ports,

it has raid and even if you dont want to run a raid the extra ports can be used as an ata100 controller so it supports up to 8 ide devices

the onboard sound is great, better then most sound cards

onboard LAN (so you dont need to add a NIC)

agp pro slot (i know for most people dont need an agp pro slot, but if you ever did need to add a high end cad/cam card you could )

I built my fist system with this motherboard and i have to say that the manuel is amazing. It is around 200 pages long. It covers everything that you need to know. I would recomend this board to everyone. It is very stable and alot faster than my old dell.

Absolutely impossible to answer without considering what you are looking for. Budget overclocking? Epox. Need RAID, integrated LAN, 5.1 sound, front USB's etc, get a Dragon. They are both great values depending on what you are looking for.

One more vote for the dragon+. Great board, used it in my first build and everything went perfectly. All the extras were great too.

I had a Soyo SY6BA+4 before & was pleased with it.
I could use the LAN & even though I don't need raid, the thought of the extra IDE devices is nice. I don't do much gaming so the sound isn't an issue as I have a SB Live lying around somewhere.
But what about the pretty PCB?? hehe
Now i'm torn between these 2 & the Soltek!! hehe
What would match the Gainward GF3 the best? (j/k)

From someone that has built just about all the new boards, My last two were the 8KHA+ and just now getting the dragon+ done, I would have to say even if they cost the same I would take the Epox, If you want raid then I would take the Epox and get a card, Epox is the fastest board out their and I don't care what anyone say unless their is a setting on this dragon or on the Asus and I don't mean alittle faster, I also like most my usb ports on the back, Sorry but I don't run my scanner or printer in the front so Epox has that covered, The more you work with the boards the more you like the 8KHA+

i have this Epox 8K7a and cant say enough about how rock solid it is. I have heard the Epox 8KHA+ that there is a beta bios out there that enables the 1/5 and 1/6 dividers.

Here's my question. I don't really have any need for the onboard RAID and I already have a NIC ... although it would be nice to not use up a PCI slot with NIC and Sound Card, how does the sound chip on the Dragon compare with, say, a TB Santa Cruz?

$90 for the EpoX + $60 for Santa Cruz is about the same price as the Dragon. So it boils down to whether the onboard sound is as good as a retail card such as Santa Cruz or even Audigy?
