Epox 8RDA+ and S/PDIF bracket

Anyone found one of those in the package? It is listed as "Optional" in the manual.

I just bought a 8RDA+ at Fry's. The package has everything but that bracket, so I am wondering if I just got robbed. Thanks.

No S/PDIF bracket is listed on that sheet, though.

It also doesn't show it included at newegg.

SPD650 is the SPDIF bracket, I believe it may well be out of stock as it says on the sheet

Do you know how much it costs? I am actually debating if I should just go get an Abit with all those goodies. I know I will be breaking my Epox streak, but I absolutely need the optical output for it.

IIRC, it costs around $15 USD and it includes a optical cable.

i ended up making my own coaxial connector for my abit nf7-s, got it to work

just get two wires.. and i bought an RCA connector at radio shack...

for optical, you would take one wire, and hook it up to the VCC pin on the mobo, and the other end to the end of the optical jack, and another cable hook up the S/PDIF out to the end of the optical jack...
though i'd just get the add on card anyways..

don't get the abit, the voltages are BAD..

That's quite reasonable. I'll probably go knock the Epox door and buy one I'd pay $15 for the Epox name

Thanks for the info. I have had no-so-pleasant experience with Abit. However, I'd have to say the optical bracket and raid on the NF7-S is a bargain for an extra $20 ONLY IF[/b] overclocking is NOT[/b] a priority. In this case, I'd probably go with Epox once again.

From what I've heard, the optical cable that comes in the kit is quite long...like 12'.
