Epox 8RDA+ fried please help me choose another

Need to replace my Epox 8RDA+ - Have had it for years but it will no longer boot. The capacitors are doing a little leaking so I'm assuming that the Epox is bad. Does everyone agree that leaking is probably my "won't boot" problem?

It has served me well - I overclocked my Athlon with the FSB adjustments from 133 to 160 and it has run great for 2 years. But now........

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive replacement that has FSB adjustments so I can continue to overclock my Athlon.

Is the Epox EP-8KRAI PRO a good cheap replacement? It is $45 at MWAVE

Any other Socket A suggestions?

The only Socket A MB's in active production I know of that offer much of an overclocking option are the NF2 boards from Biostar. Via never did manage to lock the AGP and PCI bus out of sharing the OC with its FSB circuits; not that I ever heard about. There may be a Jetway also, but I doubt it offers much in its BIOS options. I have no direct knowledge about any Sis or ULi MB's that might be available, or if any such allow OC-ing. Some judicious searching could turn up a few Gigabyte NF2 MB's still in the retail channel, also.

But "cheap" doesn't get you the OC options you want.

there is also the 8rda6+ pro............................. BTW my 8rda had the same problem... contacted epox and they had a new board to me within 2 weeks

Contact Epox and see if you can RMA it. Mine died the same way and was 2 years old and they RMA'd it. I am posting on the fixed board now.

No harm in seeing if they will fix it.
