Last night I finally started putting my new rig together. Epox 9NPA-U, Athlon 3000 venice inside Sonata 2. EVGA 6800gt. I got the boot screen. Everything A-ok. Went to bed as was pretty late. Next morning I plugged the power back in and tried to start up again. The only thing getting power is the Vid card. The fans arent spinning on PSU, CPU, or MB. And no blue leds in those zones either. What can I do?

Anyone have any insight into this? I've tried starting from scratch, and can only get the vid card and rear case fan to work.

Its the PSU that came with my Antec Sonata 2. Everything going in this system is brand new. The thing is, everything worked the way (I'm Assuming) it was supposed to. I got the Epox screen that showed my processor. I guess thats the boot screen. So I was jazzed. All the LEDs on the Mobo were lit up,(again, a good thing) All the fans were working. The next morning I could not get the screen to come on at powerup. Only 1 led on mobo is lit. And the Code on the Mobo says FF. (Fully F--ked?)
As this is my first build from scratch, I know its got to be something simple. Just something that I don't know how to fix. I've emailed Epox explaining the problem and have yet to hear from them. Maybe there are a few Anandtechers out there with this board that know what i can do to move forward. I'm really frustrated, I spent a lot of money on these parts and my wife is now at the "I told you so" stage which is not helping my state of mind in the least. All the build guides I have don't go into detail on troubleshooting. I guess nothing is supposed to go wrong. So any help from experienced builders out there would be a tremendous help and much appreciated.

Did you plug a 4 prong molex connect in the top left spot of your 24 pin connecter? this Mobo needs both of the connecters in at the same time to work.

Yes, I followed the instructions to the letter. And is it ATX or molex? The extra power connecter on the mobo is a square 4 pin, not flat like molex, right?

Well, I went out and bought another power supply to test my board with as I did not know what else to do. I'll post my findings if anyone is interested.

Tried the new power supply and still not working. Also, I got this response from Epox:
Dear User,
Sorry for the troubles. Just to verify, If you are having trouble booting the system and getting a screen try the following multi-step procedure. Power off your system first before completing any of the following tips. Skip the items you may have already tried.

1) Check CMOS clear jumper JP1 (JBAT1 on some systems). Set for CLEAR for 5 seconds, then move back.

2) Check CPU host clock jumpers (if any) are properly set. Note: does not control memory bus.

3) Check your power supply. Should be 110/115v for North America.

4) Unplug all data cables for IDE and FDD from the motherboard.

5) Unplug all power supply cables attaching to your IDE and FDD drives.

6) Remove all cards and devices EXCEPT for video, RAM, CPU, CPU heatsink/FAN.

7) Move memory into a different bank, if available.

8) Unplug the CPU and reattach.

9) Ensure your CPU heatsink/FAN is attached properly to the CPU.

10) If you use a variable RPM fan ensure its set for full speed.

11) Retest.

12) If 1-11 do not help power off and test the motherboard outside the computer case to eliminate a case/motherboard power short. Test on a non-conductive surface. Do not test on an anti-static bag!

13) Retest. If the board now works check for case problems. If the system still is not working continue...

14) You may have a possible hardware problem. Any device in the system may be a possible culprit. Use process of elimination to determine the cause. Swap out as many components as possible starting with RAM, CPU, POWER SUPPLY, VIDEO CARD (if present) and/or MOTHERBOARD.

15) Ensure your power supply have the 4 pin 12 volts connector connected (Run with at least a 400 watt's PSU) and the power for your video card as well. If you have a high-end type of video card that have a power connector that require it own power source. Thanks

So, did all of that and still only vid card powers up, with no boot screen. I think I need to RMA the board to newegg. If anyone else has any suggestions before I do this, please let me know. Thanks.

I just built almost the same exact system.

Sounds like the mobo.

I would just email them back and then contact newegg.

Unfortunately, the Epox 9NPA-U does not have a built in vid card. Then you could just boot the motherboard.

Like I said it sounds like you need to get a new mobo. I hooked mine up with no problems, except it appears my LCD monitor is messed up.
