Just got mine...

all the bags are original and sealed, the documentation manuall looks like it's never been opened, even got the USB riser and the IDE cables.

BIOS is "U=" and the board is revision 2.0

This board is new...no scratches even on the screw eyelets!

I just bought a "new" one from Fry's for $99 (BIOS was also "U=") last week (which i thought was a decent price), so i've been able to compare them both side by side. I can't tell the difference between them at all! except the box they came in.

obviously, i'm taking the "new" one back to Fry's...

SWEET DEAL!!!

BTW, about the free shipping...i ordered this yesterday! newegg rocks!

Got mine last week, rev 2.0, N+ bios. Installed over the weekend to replace my ECS K7S5A, which had annoying cold boot problem. This board rocks, no cold boot problem and rock solid so far. I will give it more testing to see how it fares. So far so good. Mind arrived in retail box as well, and everything is included in the box and looked new.

Newegg rocks!

Well after reading SCRacer's post I decided to take a look at my board again. Since I have not installed it yet, I took a magnifying glass and checked out the mounting holes. Mine is definately a used refurb. I suggest everyone take a look and see if there is scratches where the screws mount to hold the board in the case. By looking at the rest of the board I had previously thought it was brand new.

Wow! You guys were right! Went home for lunch and my board was there. Totally and completely brand new! Couldn't even tell that the PCB had ever been handled.

What a deal!

Thanks.

Retail box...Revision 2...U= bios chip.

It was definately installed, I can see the screw swirl marks on the board. Other than that, I think everything's included floppy and IDE cables(even the USB ports for the rear). Anyone know if the Rear USB port connector will work on a soyo dragon + board? I have an extra hook up free on my dragon + even after using the front 3.5" adapter. I would love to add the ports to it instead of the 8kha+ system.

EDIT:

The pin assignments are not the same. I'm not sure if it will work as is, but I doubt it. One side is correct, but the other side is opposite. The wires are easy enough to pull out and reverse the order on the incorrect side. Worked like a charm. Gotta love 6 USB ports. My two USB printers had the back filled up with no where to plug the new Planar LCD monitor in.

Are these boards under warranty still from Epox ? Id hate to get a refurb that goes up in smoke in 2 months and nobody will do anything . of course the 40 bucks shipped extra for a retail board is more than half what a second refurb would be but still if anyone knows the odds of getting Epox to RMA one of these suckers please give up some info . Thanks .

Had to pay homage to a great Hot Deal. Installed mine today and everything is working great. Bios has multitude of tweak options. Time to read up and figure out what they all mean! Yea, baby!

Davinci and Dumbguy,

Check the holes where the screws go in for attachment to the case. Mine came packed exactly like yours but using a magnifying glass I could see scratch marks where the screws had been seated.

Man, these really good stories are temping me. I have ordered 2 refurb boards from Newegg with sorry results. The first one, an Epox 8KTA3, would not overclock. When I tried to update the bios, it hanged, but Newegg took it back. Then I ordered an Iwill kk266 reburb, and it looked new in the retail box. It seemed fine at first, but once I got everything hooked up (after the 30 days, of course), I discovered that there was something wrong with the USB controller. Turns out that you couldn't plug more than one device in at a time!!! My costs then went up when I had to get a separate PCI USB controller.

I trying to stay away from refurbs, but this is tempting!!

Scratches on the screw grommets could be from some clamping fixture used at Epox. The board I received IS NEW as near as I can tell. The only down side to this deal that I have is the short warranty period. Worth the risk in my book.

Didn't mean to burst your bubble DaVinci!
Just wanted everyone to realize these are as stated Refurbs. Probably the only things done to them after being returned was a new bios chip.

Nessism,

I've bought a lot of NEW boards and never did they have scratches from a "clamping fixture".

Still so far I am completely satisfied for the price.

KeinoDoggy,

It seems that some people are receiving used boards and others are not. The board I received did not have any screw marks on the grommets and all the cables/USB hardware was still sealed inside the plastic bags.

From what I've read on the internet, Epox had a reboot issue that was fixed by replacing the bios chip. My guess is that some of these boards had the chip replaced and then the board was dumped into the refurb fleet. Why else would all the hardware still be sealed in the bags? Also, Newegg has a ton of these boards. Are there really that many returns?

Refurb, maybe. But many are unused refurbs.
