My board from AIC Micro came in on Monday and nested nicely into my box last night (though the frippin backplate was a beast to force in).
Question for you gents:
I'm debating how to list these people on resellerratings. The board arrived and it works, whee, if I have any real problems I'll likely RMA directly with Epox, they're known for their good practices.
My complaint is the shipping and the website. Their shipping looks inflated to a newegg spoiled guy. Their website showed in stock, so I ordered online 8 am est on a Monday and paid the higher shipping to go 3 day select so I could have it by the weekend and have the weekend to play with it and get it running. Called in a few hours later once their phones opened (11 am) to verify stock, they said it was delayed, I explained I would be expecting a free shipping upgrade because I had paid extra for timely delivery based on believing their website's "Availability: Y". Lady said it had to be referred to manager, who would call or email me. I said fine. Get home that night, no email at home, no message. Call again and emphasize my (I think reasonable) expectation. Lady says manager has the information and will get back to me.
Board shipment arrives there on Tuesday, ships late wednesday and arrives yesterday. 3-Day Select, in spite of my rather clear communications. I'm happy with the board, and that I got the thing (though it was wedged directly into a shipping box, no padding at all between retail box and shipping box). I'm unhappy as hell with their website/inventory tracking, their inflated shipping prices, and their inability to deliver on a very fair expectations.
Now how hard do I smack them on my resellerratings review? I'd think a company just starting to get noticed by people like AT and RR would try a little harder to maintain high ratings, since 1 bad one among 10-11 reviews hurts a lot more than one in 1500+. If these people want to be the next Newegg, they have to maintain Newegg standards, and to my eyes they haven't.
Thoughts?
