I can verify that AIC Micro is a good company, had trouble finding other places so i went with them. I ordered it on a monday night and they shipped it the next day and gave a tracking number. 8RDA+ rocks....

Grr... I ordered a 8RDA+ last Wednesday from TCWO and got a order confirmation number. Today I called them again to see why I haven't gotten a shipment confirmation email and it turns out they don't have any in stock. I just checked their website and they still have it up available for order. This is the first time I've tried ordering from TCWO, and despite the good Resellerratings I'll have to give them a thumbs down. They could have at least notified me via email it was backordered...

AIC Micro's a little funny. They have "Available: Y" in the 8RDA+ description, but say "Backordered" in the title. Seems even they're out of stock now. The non-plus version is widely available, so one could get that if they need it, but, it's up to each person to determine if they can take the loss of features for the savings of a few dollars. Of course, at some vendors, the price difference isn't so small *cough*NewEgg*cough*

I've seen it from enough sources that I believe it (re: the PCI lock). I've got a TV tuner/capture card (the Leadtek Deluxe) that was NEVER happy when the FSB on my old motherboard was 166 or higher. Since it's given me nary a hiccup on this setup, it's good to know that it's actually true.

I bought the 8RDA no +, I didnt find a need for all the sound goodies, I like my philips AE, and Ive got a NIC. I got it today, ordered from newegg on Sunday with overnight shipping, it took em 2 days to ship it then it got caught up in holiday traffic and then we got that damned storm, so I missed my only day off to mess with it. The funny thing is I ordered a mouse on Monday with 2day shipping and it got here before my newegg order. Ill be installing it tonight.

Just FYI (didnt see it posted in this thread)

1. The board seems to have a pci lock although there have been reports both ways. No one has reported hard drive corruption or other problems that occur when the pci bus goes far out of spec.

2. The gf4 problem has been directly linked to human stupidity. The gap between a specific resistor on the gf4 and the tab on one of the ram slots is almost nil, so you have to be very careful when installing. People who simply FORCED the card in without looking broke off that resistor and killed their card. This has been covered in detail on a few forums.

3. No one has it in stock right now, those who do are just lying / dont do realtime inventory. Newegg is supposed to have them tomorrow, but this is the FIFTH eta they have posted for it and still no stock, so I'd say theres a 10% chance of them coming in.

Yeah, we've had that covered for a while. The GF4 problem is detailed on aoaforums.com's front page. In addition, EPoX has even added a note concerning this (the GF4 issue) on the 8RDA+'s FAQ page, as well as a solid statement that the PCI bus is locked @ 33 MHz.

I can't comment on stock, but the non-plus version is far more available right now than the "+" version (with good reason, IMO). As TCWO admits, "This item is in high demand and limited in supply." I wouldn't go just by NewEgg's claims anyhow - they're charging more than anyone else for this board. They've got the good reputation, they know it, they'll use it for a hot item.

Well AIC was the only one of the vendors listed in the original post that had a claim of available/in stock on their website, so I put in an online order and paid for 3 day shipping (which looks to be inflated).

Call at 1 PM est once their phones are open and they are claiming the shipment was delayed and now will be in looks like on wednesday, I start raising hell that they're going to upgrade my shipping to get it here by the weekend, since that's what I paid for. Lady tells me she has to get manager approval to upgrade shipping free, I tell her to get back to me.

If they get me the board by the time I would have gotten it with 3 day shipping in stock right now (ie- by the weekend) I'll give them a good rating at resellerratings. If they don't, I'll go the other way.

I'll keep you posted, having a large group of online buyers' ears is sometimes useful.

That is if I believe the 8RDA and 8RDA+ both have the same overclocking features. Just the 8RDA+ has better quality sound and onboard lan, right?

GameVE shows them as being in stock. just placed an order. its 111$ shipped if you use there free shipping. there reseller rating is a bit low,but ive seen people post about getting items from them,they didnt seem to have any problems for the most part.

I can't get to CensusPC website either, or rather, I don't know what it is. www.censuspc.com takes me to a Cobalt webhosting account page. The link in the original thread given by SpideyCU (http://208.179.174.163/Merchant2/...) gets me a 404. I placed on order for 3 with tcwo.com on 12/18 and have been waiting since then. I'm about to give up and thinking of just get the Asus from NewEgg instead .

AIC Micro shows as back in stock, though they do not seem to have real time update of inventory, or at least not refreshing very often. $110 plus a slightly inflated shipping on UPS Ground.

As noted above, I've been hammering at them to get my shipping taken care of, looks like they may have moved it up to 2-day select, but their order status mechanism is definitely not in Newegg's class so far.

edit: If you can wait for them to open in CA, I'd probably try ordering this from them over the phone to try to avoid the pitfalls of them being out of stock but their website not being updated.

Yeah, just noticed that myself. I've no clue what's going on with them. I'm putting a note in the first post so people don't bother trying to get to them until (if?) this is resolved.

This is what happens whenever a product becomes so sought after - the weaknesses in many sites' "real time availability" becomes blatantly apparent. NewEgg, for example, is usually pretty good on their inventory status, so they can't say it can't be done.

Regarding the negative comments on GameVE, I think it's pretty clear that they're one of those merchants that screws up the small details. Examples: They'll say it's an AGOIA core, but it won't be. They'll say the card has 3.6ns memory, but it doesn't. However, I didn't mind ordering the 8RDA+ from them because it's not like it's a product that has a million variations available. Either they ship it to me, new in the box, or they don't. There's only so far a company can screw over a straight-up order like that. They were timely with it (shipped the same day I ordered, and I didn't even pay that extra "rush" fee), so it was good enough for me.
