amd 650 cpu twin fans
aopen case atx 250 t
win98 se opsys
leoptics moitor
pc100 128 ram
quantum 13 gig hd
epox k7 mobo onboard sound
32 meg tnt2 64 graphics card(both cards owrk in my 700 amd)
ricoh cdwriter mp7060a
boot up wants to read the cdromled lights up then goes out
orange hd led lights up on boot then goes out
green power led continuosly on

power to both cpu and tnt2 card as fans work
have all jumpers enabled except for the cmos clear jp1 set as default
jp2 3 4 5 enabled 2,3


it wont boot to bios
monitor comes on black screen
power switch on led on shuts down with 4 sec delay

any ideas as to whats up
i think its power connections at j2,3 but ive tried just about everything
graphics cards swapped and both work fine

Make sure the power connector is all of the way down and locked. make sure you hear the snap as it engages. I had the same kind of problem when I did a 750 for my sister. Also, your 250W PS is marginal at best, 300W is the defacto standard, with all of the stuff you've got in that system you could have trouble down the road.

I had a similar problem, try moving jumper 2 to disabled.
Don't know why it caused problems. It had been at enabled for over a month, I removed my MX300 sound card and the computer would not boot into bios. First thing I changed was jumper 2 and voila, booted without a hitch. Don't know if that is what fixed it, but that is the only thing I changed. Hope this helps.

i presume you mean jp2 for jumper 2 and j3 for power connector which is all the way down
i have power to my tnt2 graphics and power to my cpu as fans run
i have fdd light come on amnd cdrom llight comes on
cpu light s up and green hd led stays on
then cpu led goes out as does cdrom green led stays on thats it
iset jp2 to disable have
jp1 disabled jpd disabled jp3set 12 100 mhz
jp4enabled 23
jp5 enabled 23

j3 poer connector on
cant see that connectors are wrong
no monitor
when i power up the monitor liht comes on when i boot puter monitor light goes off
any more clues ?/
