Last Night I flashed my bios and never fully shut the computer off and turn it back on until today. I restarted many times with the new bios and everything was fine, until I fired it up this morning. This is a major problem for me because finals are monday, and I have my semester paper on my computer.

I just got a "C1" on the 7 segment display, which is "Auto detection of onboard DRAM & Cache." And that is as far as it got. I am not sure where this puts me,

I tried a differnet video card, and that didn't fix it.

i would reset the cmos. you probably never used to option to "load default settings" which is always a good idea after a bios update

On the 7 segment display, FF is displayed, and this show a flawless startup. Well, it shouldn't show this code from the moment that the power button is pressed. I will try clearing the CMOS....

Ok I just cleared the CMOS and it does the exact same thing. I am out of ideas, I have this system heavly modded up. The duron 700, is at 940 (133*7.5) witha peltier, and the video I have at a higher voltage fot eh 15% overclock there. And well, even with the Bus put back to 100 it still won't start. I don't get video signal, could it be the video card? But those indicator 7 segment displays on the mobo, show FF from the time that I hit the power button...

Put your board 100/133MHz jumper back to the 100MHz position. I think the system has reset everything to default, but now is trying to run the
CPU at 7x133MHZ at stock voltage because of the jumper.

Sorry, I did'nt see the 100MHz bus speed thing in your reply, and I'll assume you set it on the board.
I screwed up my bios as well once while flashing it (I did'nt do at least 3 things before I flashed it that I should have and damn me, I knew I was supposed to do them). I sent them my bios chip, and they sent me another one with the requested bios. They were extremely fast in doing it too.

damn, that sucks man. you shouldve read the directions more carefully, and "RESET" you BIOS to defaults after the flash. I think this is very important since the latest 417 BIOS incorporates some PCI and CPU multiplier fixes. Hmm, try taking everything out of your comp, minus CPU, RAM and vid card, and try to go from there. Start from the basics and work your way up. Remember, patience is key when troubleshooting computers. Good luck.

Oh boy. I think you are in for a world of hurt!

If all else fails just pull out your HD and take it over to a buddies to retrieve your paper. If you don't have another PC lying around.

I know I had to do that on more than one occasion, good luck.

BTW.... it sounds like you FUBAR'd your bios. I know I have done exactly what you did in the past but luckily after a couple of power downs the PC reset, I hope the same works for you.

OK, cool. I have been trying to figure this out, and i did pull my HD to get my files off of it it, and now I have 3 days of not too much work to figure out what is up. I think it is the BIOS too, so I am going to try the guys at BadFlash.com to get mine reprogramed.

But I wwon't be sending it out till tomorrow becuse it is after 5 and mail has already gone here. So if there are any more ideas....

BTW, I got a code "41" when I screwed up my bios flash, and the screen read "Bios rom checksum error"

Now that is what puzzles me, I don't get an error 41, It reads FF, but that is right as soon as i press the power button.
