Epson printer prob

I have an Epson Color Stylus 500 which was working fine until we moved and I neglected to intall the transport clip on the printer head. Now it only prints blank pages. I reinstalled latest drivers...replaced both cartridges,auto cleaned heads but nothing...Help, cant afford a new printer just yet...Any Ideas?

Have you tried the print head alignment program?if this does not work then you may need the printer repaired.

Epson printer sucks.
You're wasting your money buying new ink to test it.
I had 500 too and just dump it and buy another Epson - this time the cheapest 480SXU.
I find that it's better to buy the cheapest Epson (other brands come with black ink only for the cheapest model), just use it for ocassional text printing. I use ofoto for photo printing since it costs too much for buying photo ink and photo paper even though photo printer like photo 780 is quite cheap now, and it's still not like real photo.

If I need to print some secret photo at home, I'd buy a real photo printer - dye sublimation kind, not those photo inkjet.

Yes I tried to calibration program...I was able to print a color page nicely. I went to epson.com and found a link to a page titled something like "not printing black", still wont work. Gotta be the black ink head...ya I was debating in buying a new cartridge but I really dont think that is the prob...thanks guys
