I have this printer and it is the best I ever owned.

It does outstanding prints not only on cd media but photos as well. Has 6 ink tanks and can be had for under $3 each at megatoners.

I have read and experanced what is on the net as far as the cd tray needing a little help pushing it in. I found the salution to it. The rubber rollers get messed up with gunk. The rubber rollers is what brings the tray in and when they get gunked up they just spin under the tray. Clean the bottom of the tray with rubbing alcohol and then use a q-tip and run it on the rollers on the printer where the tray gets sucked in.
Whala fixed. Rollers no longer have a crust on them and are sticky again and bring the tray back in like it should. After finding this out I have made a point not to tuch the bottom of the tray or lay the tray dow so not to collect anything and cust up the rollors and it has worked as well.

Anyway off the point but I figured some asshat will jump in and say how it no longer takes the tray and its soo crappy but if you take the time to clean it there really isnt a problem just a 5 min cleaning is all. But other then that i have done a butt load of prints and made it past the half way mark on the black tank so it just sips ink when compaired to the Canon it replaced (i450).

Shirley you realize that shipping and tax will vary. Outpost = $89.18 in TX, after tax and ground shipping.

I bought this printer from Staples for $99.00 - $20.00 gift card = $80.00 + tax for NEW. (no shipping)

I like the printer for several reasons.

1) Prints very nicely on my CD/DVDs

2) Prints photographs better that my Canon S820

3) Very inexpensive

4) Cartridges are $2.50/ea. at megatoners

When printing, stock up on good paper when you see a sale.

I've only had it for 2 months and no cons yet.

Just my 0.02c

If this comes with fresh ink, this is a definite steal. The ink alone would cost you about this much, if you purchase ink retail. This is a rather nice printer, but keep in mind that this beast is expensive to feed. It uses six cartridges (CMYcmK), and the color ones are about $12 to $15. Black will run you $15 to $17.

If you don't mind voiding your warranty, www.inkdaddy.com can refill this thing for under $30 (including shipping) -- just use the easy-to-find 40% coupon code. I have been happy with their ink, but I do not do photos, just utility printing.

Yes, it comes with new inks. I bought it from Epson 2 months ago and love every bit of it. The separate inkcartridges save you lots of $ in the long run. I bought it primary for DVD/CD prints and it saves me a bundle.

funboy42,
Thanks for the tips to solve the cd tray issue.

Your welcome for the fix. LMK if it did work for you. When I did mine I got all kinds off stuff off them and it is working perfectly even after doing about 70 labels.

For the ink I bought 3 of each color from megatoners for $51 shipped. I have done over 150 cd labels, 30 or so prints off the internet (full pages), 4 4x6 photos, 5 full size paper photos, and my black is between 1/4 and 1/2 and all the other colors are just hitting the halfway mark on the original tanks. So the talk about this thing using alot of ink I dont think so. And if brand ink isnt that much of a worry it can be had very cheap. Sure 6 tanks may sound like a lot but your not pitching a multi tank with all the colors in one when only one color ran out.

I am in love with this printer. Dont care where you buy one from but IMO I think it is one of the better ones I have had and I had them all. HP, Lexmark, Compaq, zerox, and canon. The way it just sips ink and the quality of the prints I'm more then happy. If it matters I got mine new from newegg when it was on sale for $81 shipped.

Great printer. I bought from Newegg last month. After purchase, I found Epson was running a promo rebate of a $20 Visa card. Even though Newegg never mentioned the rebate, I mailed in and it came just fine. So my point is, maybe refurb isn't that big a savings. Newegg might have it for similar price and you might be able to get the rebate.

Very good photo quality on photo paper. The color is right on without any fiddling.

I love epson printers in general.

I have the C84 and the 880

my main printer is the 880 and the ink is under 2 bucks for both black and color and it's running like a champ.
this is the printer to get as it has no chips in the ink carts.

C84 prints like a champ too but the ink is a bit more expensive.
But after using Canon's bullsh!t seperate ink cart ( always dries out ) and HP's mucho expensive ink printers.

i will never purchase anything other than epson, when it comes to inkjet printers.
I even purchased a photo printer too What brand ? EPSON.

why buying refurbished? Amazon has it for $90 and free shipping, no tax in most states. Even free shipping to Hawaii or Alaska.

What is this TAX you speak of. Move to my state Delaware. Our state motto on the signs is Home of tax free shopping.

I have 2 of these printers hooked to my 4 dvd burner rig. They work fine. I have to clean the trays as he says about every 3 months. Not a big deal. I replaced my Canon's with this printer, and only include epsons now for all my customers computer. The Tanks really save a lot of $$, screw HP and those little tanks they have now. Same price and half the capacity!!!

I used to love HP, but they are junk anymore.

I bought a Refurb 6400 from outpost for $99 if i remember and it's the best printer i've owned.

I would love to find another Epson 880 printer. Unfortunately, they have been discontinued.
I'll occasionally see a used one go for 120+ on Ebay. Crazy considering I payed about 80 for it new!

The 880 is a workhorse with very low cost per page, when you use generic. I didn't like the C84 at all. Much thirstier on ink and the durabright ink did a mediocre job on photo paper.

The R200 is another story. Not as good on ink cost as the 880, but photo quality is outstanding and CD/DVD printing is very impressive. I'm currently using some printable Ritek disks. I swear they look like store-bought DVDs.

yea I know what you mean.
Mine has been running like a champ, and i'm never letting this baby go.
It's mine for the rest of my life if it lasts that long that is.
C84 did a nice job on epson photo paper, so i'll just stick with it until it kills itself.
I really woudl like to goet the R200 but with the C84 running fine, there is no point of me having 3 printers.
