I have a Epson perfection 2450 Photo scanner running on a W2K computer. It has worked great for almost a year, then a few days ago just quit. Now when I try to scan I get one of the following error messages (depending on what application I try to scan from):
TWAIN error. (T009)
Error opening TWAIN data source. (T015). Unable to find the TWAIN source manager. (TWAIN.DLL). Please copy the TWAIN.DLL file from your source disk to your Windows folder. (T039).
OR---
Unable to access the scanner because it is not ready or another application is using it. Please make sure that the scanner is on and connected to your computer, or close all scanning applications.
OR--
TWAIN Data Source not found. Please reinstall scanner software.
I have tried to uninstall the software and all twain drivers then reinstall, but no help. I also tried Epson tech support and we went through everything they knew to try, but no help. They finally thought my scanner may be bad. So I took the scanner and software to work and hooked it to another W2K computer and within 5 min I was up and scanning, no problems.
So the scanner is O.K. and now back home I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is helping. I even went into the registry and deleted everything I could find related to the scanner, deleted all the TWAIN files, and I also did a file and folder search for "Epson" and deleted all folders and files with epson in it, reinstalled, same problem.
In the device manager, there are no ? or ! and it says the device is working properly. In the control panel under "Scanners and Cameras" the scanner is listed, but the status says "Unavailable".
Any Ideas???
