OM is putting this printer on sale tomorrow for $79.99! I haven't made it back to Best Buy or Circuit City to check for price match---could be less!

Use the $50 rebate listed in the first thread to bring the price down to $29.99 + tax or less!

I feel the need to mention that I have been using Epson printers for years, started with the 600 series and worked up to a 1200. I have noticed an improvement with the length of time the ink lasts with every upgrade. My only complaint with the Epsons have been that they tend to be a little noisy, and the 600 and 700 series were a little short on memory for handling large photo jobs.

My 840 and 1200 printers are quieter than the earlier ones and give me beautiful results. I should also mention that all of the printers are in service to this day, they have been passed on to friends and family as I upgraded. I know you will love this printer for this kind of money!

If only there were an OM or circuit city nearby... =( I guess I'll have to get the printer for 40+ from Onvia.com--but getting a good printer at that price isn't bad at all ^________^

Heres a way to sweeten the deal, get the printer online for the 79.99 at office max, add 20 dollars of pens or pencils that they have free after rebate. Use a 25 off 100 coupon found at other sites to get the deal for about 15 after rebates including tax

ygreenkitty,

Are you sure that's not just the ole "price after rebate" trick. I just checked my local store and the price right now is $129 which is $50 higher than $79.

Not crapping just double checking before we all run to OM.

Thanks for the post either way!

Epson 860 rebate form

Weird I don't see the Epson 860 on OM's web site either.
Perhaps this is a B&M only deal?

If you do order online from OM.com here's your best bet:
$79.99 Epson 860 (currently not listed on the OM web site)
20.01 miscellaneous stuff (office supplies, CD-Rs, Zip disks, ink cartridges, use your imagination)
-$25 off $100 new customer coupon
-4% eBates
-free shipping since order is over $50
----------
$2.79

or

$22 with the $20.01 in miscellaneous stuff

Awesome post, thank you ygreenkitty!

hkchan,

That's obvious! The question is does he know for certain if the price tomorrow is the "price after rebate" or will that be their price out the door?

My Sunday ads come in the Saturday paper....The ad clearly states $50 off, no mention of rebate.
I was just going to upload a scan and realized I don't have an FTP program on my new computer!
I had Cute FTP--any good free ones?

They also have An Acer 36 bit Scanner/ 1425-8055 on sale for $59.99 with a $30 Mfr rebate.

Thanks ygreenkitty for the reply! I was just about to drive out to get the Sunday paper that's out this afternoon.

Sounds like a great deal! I think I might go pick one up and have them price guarantee tomorrow to make sure I get one.

Just double checked their website and they still guarantee price for 14 days!

This sounds like the old 79.99 - $50 off after rebate trick. I will be very suprised if they sell this printer for $79.99 before rebate. If they do it's a steal. These stores do this all the time by advertising a price after rebate. It's really annoying when they factor in those $400 MSN rebates that you need to spend like $800 to actually get. I just paid a $40 final cost for this printer from Onvia ($90 shipped - $50 rebate) so I guess it's possible. That's only $10 less than the Onvia deal and tax will add a couple dollars more. Let's see what happens...

Well maybe the best we can hope for is to be polite yet firm and insist on the advertised price and hope we have a reasonable cashier/manager. And of course, maybe we can hit the other stores for a price match.

I just picked up one at the Turnersville NJ OfficeMax for $79! It rang up as $129.. but there was a little sign on the display printer with the $79 price. They have a lot of them in stock, too. Definitely a steal!

Looking online at BestBuy, I checked the price match policy. It looks like you can order it online and get a price match at a local store. Since it is in stock online and priced $119.00, the price match should be for $75.00. Has anyone tried this? It did not appear to be in stock at my local store. Oh, yes; they are offering free shipping on this.

BTW, I already ordered the one through the Onvia deal--rats!

Oops meant to show the pricing policy:

<< In-Store Price Guarantee
If, within 30 days (14 days for computers, monitors, printers and notebooks, camcorders, digital cameras and radar detectors) of your purchase from Best Buy, you find a local competitor offering a lower price on an available product of the same brand and model, we'll refund the difference plus another 10% of the difference. Bring us verification of the lower price, plus your original Best Buy receipt to claim your refund. Does not apply to special, bonus or free offers, and in California cellular phones and pagers. Does not apply to products with special financing offers. For complete price guarantee details, please see a customer service representative. We reserve the right to limit quantities. See store for complete details.

Online Price Guarantee
At this time we do not have a price match guarantee. However, if you purchase an item online or at an in-store kiosk and choose in-store pick up, and the item is offered at a lower price when you pick it up, you will be charged the lower price.

What is wrong here, This is a great printer!!! (Got one from Onvia). Why is Epson givng it away? Have seen a lot of comments about refurbished ones. Geeeesh..... this printer is for the price of the ink alone. Thinking of ordering one for a Christmas gift.

Regards ......Gort

I think it's probably being sold so inexpensively because Epson makes most of their money selling you the ink - and those ink cartridges go fast I've noticed. The average person ends up spending many times more on ink than on the printer. How much can it cost them to make the ink? Not much and they sell it for $20 a cartridge. Lots of profit there. Also most people do not send rebates in, so they make $50 more on most people off the rebate.

This would have made an excellent Staples deal. I don't see it on their site. I guess I will see tomorrow if they carry it but not listed on the site. Sheba, are you listening ;-) See if you can find that IM number (big grin)

I've been buying replacement ink cartridges from PC Bay for my Epson 600 for $5.00 + $6.35 shipping - lots cheaper than the OM or equiv.

The rebate from the Epson website has some specific language about Staples and rebates. It says that if you are purchasing through Staples, you must use their in-store rebate form and procedure. It also says this might be the case at other stores, but Staples is the only one mentioned by name.

It is being closed out to make room for the new 880. See Epson's website for details, but really the difference is the resolution jumps to 2880x720.
