Have an Epson XP-640 inkjet printer and having issues with the ink. Whenever I print something, it will put a big blob of wet black ink on a certain part of the paper. Does it on 4x6 and letter in the same spot. I have done the cleaning several times, replaced cartridges. At one point, after doing a few cleanings, it was printing good. But a few weeks go by and it is acting up again. Only use genuine ink.
Now where the ink cartridges sit, there is a piece of what looks like foam that is soaked in wet black ink. This is the area where it is putting the wet blob on the paper. Is that area supposed to be like that? I am guessing no, but what is causing it?
One thing I don't understand is when I do a nozzle check, that blob of ink is not there.
EDIT: Now I really don't understand what is going on. When I print a pic from a phone, the pic will have the blob of ink on it. When I print that same pic from a laptop, nothing is wrong. From what I can see, the print settings are the same.
