Looks like the driver was playing the dumbest game of chicken, and some of the protesters called his bluff. He's an absolute moron and he needs to go behind bars for awhile. The slime-ball reporter on Twitter falsely claiming that a crowd was "plowed into" isn't helping to deescalate things either.

It's actually the classic way the news discusses motor vehicle collisions. Wording like the use of passive voice (the pedestrian was struck), blaming the vehicle instead of the operator, calling collisions "accidents", and the general downplaying of negligence leading to death normalizes vehicular violence. That truck driver was an idiot and should probably be charged with attempted murder.

On my Vizio I have a split screen and am watching both FOX and CNN!
But let me say there have already been 50 secret service agents injured.....
I see and believe that the military will have to get involved to protect the White House and I am surprised that the SS have not fired live rounds at the crowd!
I really do understand the symbol the White stands as......
But IMO if the White House needs to be breached to prove the point that it belongs to all the people and if the breach starts the dialogue towards my black brothers and sisters being treated correctly, I will not lose any tears!!
But I do not wish to see anybody hurt or killed over this......
I just have a feeling and i heard this said by one of CNN`s reporters it seems like every night there are more and more people than the previous night......

Key word being collision. It's fine to use a strong word as long it's accurate. You wouldn't say that a pedestrian was struck if in reality he leapt out of the way. That NYPD vehicle with the barricade is an example of ploughing into pedestrians. Doesn't look like that's what happened here though.

He's certainly going to be charged with at least reckless endangerment, as well as a slew of other offences including traffic violations. Attempted murder might be a stretch, depending on specific state law. The fact that he eventually slowed down to avoid running people over is either iron clad if renunciation is a defence in Minnesota (eg. it doesn't matter if he initially wanted to commit murder, just that he changed his mind before he did), or just very strong (eg. he could argue it shows that he never wanted to kill anyone in the first place) otherwise. Assuming there isn't some other rule that overrides such defences in this situation.

The people that destroyed Santa Monica today were all outsiders. It was targeted because it is white and wealthy, or at least represents that.
