Error message STOP 000007b

Hello,

I recently installed a new hard disk on my Fujitsu Siemens laptop model number Amilo P1505i , however i am getting a error message which says stop error code 00007b. When i searched the error code on google i got the answer as the hard drive controller driver is missing are there any ways i can find this driver anywhere because i am unable to find this on the internet.

Kindly advise.

Your hard drive controller is usually part of the chipset on the motherboard. Some newer hard drives require newer drivers. Check Fujitsu's laptop support site for updated drivers for your machine.

You'll need to select the F6 option after booting up to your OS install disc to then do a repair install on it. If you are using XP, you will need to come up with a floppy to load the chipset drivers on to make this work. This is where an external USB floppy drive comes in handy.

If using Vista or Win7, then you can get away with having them on a USB thumb drive.

SATA disc?

Could be if your installing a version of windows xp that doesn't have drivers slipstreamed in that you are running into issues.


Go into bios and make sure that your not running AHCI, run SATA as IDE, and then you will be able to install.


Once in windows then get all your storage controller drives, then your should have no problem going back to AHCI.
