Recently I got a new motherboard that supports eSATA via a bracket. To my surprise the bracket also has a plug for a typical 4 pin molex connector like so: bracket picture.
I'm curious what kind of safe cable lengths I can use this over? It's obviously just a male/female adapter that plugs into the PSU. I had never considered using the PSU externally though. I'm also curious if anyone knows of a proper cable for external usage like this?
If possible I'd like to put a couple hard drives in an old mini case and power the fans/hard drives off this connector.
